- allarise, on 10/12/2007, -5/+142btw. I actually found this post on Stack. I saw a stack growing very tall, and here it was. Very useful. +digg to the whole digg team.
- sastian, on 10/12/2007, -5/+100same here, found this via stack. stack rules! spy drools. :)
- allarise, on 10/12/2007, -1/+70Sweet. Waiting for this since Digg3 launched.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+54GAH! Flash 8! No Linux support!
- aloser, on 10/12/2007, -2/+49Too bad stack doesn't work on linux :(
- TROGDOR42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35The real irony is that Digg dugg itself to death.

Digg Stack requires JavaScript
and an up-to-date Flash Player.
Enable Javascript in your browser, and
download the Flash Player from Adobe.
Well that downright sucks. Us Linux users are left out in the cold. Again. But I would have expected better from Digg. - kubudubudubuntu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28wtf, no love for linux?! =(
- afractus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25Too much traffic. Digg effect to itself
- Visceral, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25No linux support from a technology site? Not so hot.
- eean, on 10/12/2007, -8/+29Lame, no Linux support.
- Rummey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Has Digg brought itself down? Swarm seems to have stopped functioning.
- MisterCookie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21What the hell? A massive percentage of digg users are Linux users, and we don't even get a compatible flash app?
- Area51mafia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Damnit. I knew this would happen. Requiring Flash 8 or 9 :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22digg effect on digg?
lol - crexor, on 10/12/2007, -9/+27No labs.digg.com for linux users, no digg from this digger. :/
- aroedl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Doesn't work on Linux, as others pointed out.
Could somebody (Mac/Windows) please be so generous and post some screenshots, so we can at least see what this is all about?
Thanks. - arzdb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17amen. I just installed kubuntu, firefox and flash today on this computer and it gives me the error message needing javascript/flash.
- MannaPC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Odly enough, I did too!
These new things are awesome! I Hope they keep releasing nifty tools and always stay original!
Goodjob and thanks Digg.com team! - slugicide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15LinuxUser: *shivers* Brrr. It sure is cold out here!
- rsteinke, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Is it just me, or would stack and swarm make totally kickass digg screensavers?
- Pluckie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14It's going to be a sad departure for me from my beloved diggspy. This stack+swarm combo is looking too damn good to pass up.
- Zoltak, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16I am in a trance now watching swarm and stack, one on each monitor.
- tomwsmf, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15So a "tech" site puts out new features that can not be run on Linux...way to go guys. FOSS or Proprietary, digg dev has spoken.
Yes, they do not HAVE to make features that are open for everyone to use, its just telling that they decided not to launch that way. - suldar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I'm surprised too. I thought they would make the new tools usable with Flash 7 for Linux. However, if they needed certain features only available in more recent versions of Flash I can only be irritated with Adobe.
- FlyingLlama, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13i, too ironically found this story via digg stack. it's very impressive.
- jaytee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11dig dug, anyone?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dig_Dug - gaznet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11go to http://labs.digg.com or click on Digg Labs NEW! in the tools menu..
- wrongway, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13No linux from digg??? Just so you know if your not part of the solution, then your part of the PROBLEM..
- buss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Yeah, it seems digg buried its own server.
- FlyingLlama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9i dont on the other hand understand very well digg swarm... it's very fun, but is there anyone else who believes stack is loads better at visualising digg activity?
- c_starfish3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11thanks for giving me 2 more reasons to screw around at work digg.
- cosmotron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Hum, they don't appear to be working for me... Too much traffic?
- M2Ys4U, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13If the masses didn't want it on the front page, they wouldn't digg it to the front page, so here's a big fat STFU, as we don't want to hear your whining.
- M2Ys4U, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Bitch to adobe for not releasing an up-to-date flash.
- geuisteses, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Seems to have broken already. Nothing happening on swarm or stack view for me.
- lane.montgomery, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9The animation on the swarm is awesome. Nice job guys!
- briguyd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7First of all: No Linux support = I hate you.
Secondly: I would like to see a way to digg the stories directly from these visualizations, my guess is that most of the people using these tools are more hardcore digg users and are therefore less passive users and want to digg the stories they like. Being able to do so directly from these interfaces would almost completely eliminate the need to go to the digg homepage ever again. - zero5549, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6for anyone who cares the api is located at http://services.digg.com
go to http://zero5549.com/digg/ for and example - Pluckie, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9...and so digg continues to revolutionize the way we read/receive news. Looks great!
- Dracker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8http://digg.com/linux_unix/Flash_Player_9_for_Linux_Details_Posted_by_Adobe_Insider
There is hope for linux flash ;) - yeahbuddy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Swarm:

Stack:
http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/9083/stackkp4.jpg - cmw72, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Reminds me of that classic arcade game ... digg dug.
No one is immune to the digg effect I guess. - eggstylin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7The next thing I would LOVE to see is a LIVE commenting/digging system. I want to see comments and diggs appear in real time!
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This is seriously the coolest thing to come to Digg since the site launched. I feel like I'm watching over some massive hive-mind........this will eat up so much of my time :)
- Dracker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Lack of support is GOOD?
Wake up and smell the coffee, alternative OSs are on the rise. Companies would do well to support them.
And a flash 9 player for Linux is in the works.
http://digg.com/linux_unix/Flash_Player_9_for_Linux_Details_Posted_by_Adobe_Insider - rufo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Now that Digg has Dugg itself, will the universe collapse in upon itself?
- thedove, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7this is really cool! it'll be interesting to see if netscape starts doing visualizations like this...they seem to have stole every other good idea digg has
- leftfoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Pull your head out of your ass. People can submit stories letting other people know what is going with Digg. Thats what makes Digg badass. I don't have a problem with it, and if I didn't see this post, I wouldn't know if Swarm&Stack was released.
- barneygumble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I agree. I'm quite surpised that there nobody at digg is using Linux.... perhaps they are and decided it had to be flash 8 or nothing.

What is Digg?
