- tarcy, on 11/15/2007, -2/+11not like there havnt been so many articles already that show the stuff... just because it says "porn" it's suddenly not allowed?
- sexualaj, on 11/15/2007, -2/+36I'm going to leave Digg if this it's under Murdochs empire.
You know what that means no more fox bashing.- whoadave, on 11/15/2007, -1/+19I already have. Reddit FTW!
- flashboy131, on 11/16/2007, -0/+6I just read the reddit thread and foxnews has "digg this" buttons on all of there articles?
talk about sell out. cnn ok, nytimes ok... but fox? - k3ano, on 11/16/2007, -1/+4Stay and fight you pussies, I hear too much of this from you yanks, "I've had enough of this *****, I'm moving to Canada."
Make some effort people.
- justaskyourmom, on 11/15/2007, -1/+49Taken from website when they contacted Digg:
We email them:
Within the past few minutes, someone at Digg apparently deleted a Digg submission entitled "FOX News Porn. All porn, all from FOX News. Seriously. (possibly NSFW)" by the user account "bravenewfilms". Clearly someone thought this was an actual porn site -- but it's not -- it's a PARODY site. It's taking images and video broadcast by the FOX News Network and putting them together on a website designed to LOOK like a porn site, encouraging people to contact FOX News advertisers.
They respond:
That submission had Adult Content included within it and is not allowed on Digg, as per the TOS you agreed to when you signed up. If you agree not to submit material that breaks the TOS again, we will reinstate your account. The offending domain has been blocked and will not be reinstated.
We respond:
The submission strictly contained content that FOX News had broadcast. Digg won't allow content that FOX News will air? Seriously? Please double check the web site (http://foxnewsporn.com), and please confirm that Digg doesn't allow content that is broadcast on FOX News. That's all I ask. I will certainly not repost something you don't allow, I just want to be 100% clear on this.
They respond:
Yes, that submission was Adult content. Yes, it was against our TOS, even though it was broadcast on FOX. Unfortunately the domain will not be unbanned. As stated before, if you agree not to submit anything that breaches our TOS, we will reinstate your account.
I've been to the site and there is nothing too explicit. NSFW, yes, but NSFD (Not Safe For Digg), no. It's all just footage from Fox News.- peligros, on 11/16/2007, -0/+9I agree completely. It'll be interesting to see if this discussion makes it to the front page.
- sexualaj, on 11/15/2007, -4/+48Digg was founded on news news that could people had a real input in and be a apart of a community.
Now it's all gone down the drain if Murdoch purchases Digg. It'll be no different from what were seeing in our televisions every night. Corporate run media informing you.
More and more you'll start to see articles removed from digg because it doesn't "fit" with digg. It's happening already.
You think it's coincidence that WSJ and FOX have "digg" buttons on there articles now?
I'll soon be moving over to Reddit where it won't be so controlled.
Don't like what am saying? Bury me --> Red Thumb is that way.- borninda818, on 11/16/2007, -1/+8Let me explain:
1. Murdoch buys Digg
2. Stuff start getting censored
3. An inevitably revolution (may 5?)
4. God knows what
5. We all move to Reddit
The only company that could possible buy digg w/o messing it up would be Google. - spucky, on 11/16/2007, -1/+4Sorry, I'm color blind and pressed the wrong thumb. I'll try to follow your directions better next time.
- tarcy, on 11/16/2007, -4/+2I would move to reddit too, but digg is like a drug to me... and I can't let go
- borninda818, on 11/16/2007, -1/+8Let me explain:
- kevlarbaboon, on 11/15/2007, -3/+17I can't think of any reasonable way to defend the blocking of that site.
- NRX22, on 07/23/2008, -2/+28Oh ***** DIgg. Reddit rules now anyways.
- labboy, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3Reddit? Unfortunately, they block stuff too (I work for a high tech pub whose stuff they block for no apparent reason)

05/01/07 Never forget. - peligros, on 11/16/2007, -1/+7I just tried searching digg.com for "Digg Blocks Fox News" and didn't come up with any results.
- mr1337, on 11/16/2007, -0/+8=( looks like we got buried
- kevlarbaboon, on 11/16/2007, -0/+6Creepy.
- bacchus101, on 11/16/2007, -0/+12There is no question Digg is now pandering to NewsCorp. This is a sad, sad day.
- CatManDoIt, on 11/16/2007, -0/+9Another attempt to submit the story: http://digg.com/tech_news/Digg_bans_racy_Fox_News_ ...
- dotlizard, on 11/16/2007, -5/+2wait wait wait. Murdoch bought WSJ, and WSJ installed a "digg this" button like elebendy kabillion other news/bloggy websites? and ... now it's a conspiracy? maybe i'm missing something. i mean, i must be. totally missing something.
- w0rd, on 11/16/2007, -1/+11See Reddit for uncensored content.
- supert0ad, on 11/16/2007, -1/+5reddit also has intelligent discussion on that content, something which digg lacks. stop inviting the diggers.
- 7shadesofcrazy, on 11/16/2007, -1/+11Digg...moving a little each day toward being irrelevant. I used to love this site. reddit stole me away.
Oh, and the TOS argument is nonsense. I've seen a ton of plenty worse stuff on digg. - sb76117, on 11/16/2007, -1/+10thank you!!! digg is selling out to murdoch! i knew it. damnit, kevin!!!
- Ltgeo, on 11/16/2007, -0/+6Agreed, ***** this. What sellouts. Stand against the Murdoch media empire.
- BlueRajah, on 11/16/2007, -0/+5Basing the premise on the Wired article (http://blog.wired.com/monkeybites/2007/11/digg-lin ... I say that If Digg/WSJ deal is irrelevant to the decision made not allowing foxsnewsporn.com, then unban the account and allow it back on Digg as a news story. Prove to the public that there is no conflict of interest involved ...

05/01/07 -- Never forget. - k3ano, on 11/16/2007, -1/+6Is this being blocked from reaching the front page? It's not even on the "upcoming" list.
- EXTER, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3http://foxnewsporn.com/
- SoupsMan, on 11/16/2007, -6/+2Jesus christ guys. Its blocked because of the domain name. it has the word PORN in it. Grow the frick up. Even though people shouldn't look at this site while at work, people obviously do, and Kevin knows that. Maybe he doesn't want people to be fired because their work filter caught a user going to a website that has the word PORN in the name. If your going to move to slashdot, reddit, fark, just do it. Spamming the front page because your all impulsive 14 year olds(or acting like one) won't improve digg one bit. Post the crap on your blog or find a mirror that doesn't have PORN in the domain name.
Think people.- k3ano, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3Or maybe they're protecting the interest of their advertisers/future buyers. Apparently it was banned because of the content, not the title. This digg page doesn't directly lead to adult content and has nothing in the title NSFW, it's just a criticism of Digg which is actively being censored.
As of now this has 349 diggs and it is not on the frontpage or on the upcoming page. Go ahead and try to even search for this page and nothing comes up.
