;-) - D-Man, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Knowing the way that digg is setup (i.e.: 75 servers before the Digg 3.0 launch... likely more at this point), separate servers perform separate tasks. The server(s) that check(s) for duplicate stories upon submission (and the search servers, for that matter) is(are) probably a few minutes (if not an hour or so) behind the server(s) that store the stories themselves... It could also be an indexing server that runs a periodic index (probably somewhere between every 5-30 minutes).
This is all speculation... but it's worth thinking about before crying 'dupe'.

Then Kevin takes 5 or more minutes to type the title/description and boom, there are two on here.

*Note:* This is not an ideal solution for everyone, this is just how I like it. I cannot guarantee it will prevent your admin from getting you into trouble for NSFW images, but the images will not be displayed on your monitor.
