- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -7/+12Omg a girl on digg.Are you for real.?
- MScrip, on 07/31/2008, -2/+6It's a way to keep all your bookmarks online and available on any computer.
I use the Delicious Bookmarks Firefox extension, and moved all my bookmarks off of this computer and into Delicious. Now I can access the same bookmarks on my desktop, laptop or any computer in the world. I never touch the local bookmarks, and only deal with Delicious.
Let's say you have Delicious Bookmarks on Firefox on your work computer and your home computer. If you bookmark something at work, you'll also see it when you get home. I can't tell you how many times I've bookmarked something at one place, and have no idea how to find it elsewhere.
Plus you can add tags to describe your bookmarks, to make it easier to search through them... anywhere. - derkles, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3http://blog.delicious.com/blog/2008/07/oh-happy-da ...
The video intro - Obelia, on 08/01/2008, -1/+4It looks as though it's become too slick, colour-co-ordinated and corporate. I used to enjoy the obvious coding errors of the old del.icio.us, they gave it the human touch.
Looking at What's New, it doesn't seem as though much is, it seems to be a look and feel upgrade rather than a lot of new functionality. - eeemart, on 07/31/2008, -16/+19i am really not feelin' the new delicious.com as much as i was del.icio.us, it's just... sigh... why bother, i'm gonna get dugg down anyways.
- inotocracy, on 08/01/2008, -0/+2That's actually a good thing. I rarely went to delicious simple because I always typed the domain wrong.
- brundlefly76, on 08/01/2008, -0/+2they didnt add my most desired feature - an easily rememberable URL.
- xGuerrillaRadio, on 07/31/2008, -3/+5Don't tell me what I can and can't do!
- username7410, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1I don't like it. What's the next best URL tagging site like del.icio.us?
- skinturtle, on 07/31/2008, -3/+4You don't understand what it does? I think it's pretty apparent ...it looks like a site where people submit their favorite booksmarked sites and the most popular get pushed to the top.
I have no idea why I never knew about this site before. I just found some real incredible links to some great web design resources. It's good now..but I'm sure some twitbags will find a way to spam it so that the good stuff is hard to find. - Cvent, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1The old url was a "domain hack," an unconventional combination of letters to form a word or phrase. The site has since become very popular and was acquired by Yahoo. del.icio.us although interesting and different, is not the easiest thing to type. Certainly if you've never heard of the site, you're not going to know where to place the periods when typing it out. This was obviously a usability decision to change the naming.
Here's a quote from Wikipedia...
In an interview, Schacter explained how he chose the name: "I'd registered the domain when .us opened the registry, and a quick test showed me the six letter suffixes that let me generate the most words. In early discussions, a friend referred to finding good links as 'eating cherries' and the metaphor stuck, I guess." - inactive, on 08/01/2008, -1/+2Old url was better!
- inactive, on 08/05/2008, -0/+1It's about time. The site looks better, but shouldnt be so damn wide.
- tomarocco, on 08/01/2008, -1/+2Cockblocker
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -3/+4'delicious.com' *shakes head* that's just wrong.
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1If you are going to quote something, get it right. It's "Oooh riiight" not "Ohhh yeah"
- Cvent, on 08/01/2008, -2/+2I think the new version is a step in the right direction. Having used del.icio.us for a while, I think most will have withdraw symptoms from not seeing everything in big Web 1.0 sizes and colors. It would be nice to have some spritzing of color—the current design is a bit monochromatic for my taste. It would also be nice if they allowed icon customization, I'm not real fond of the PBS head style default.
A definite positive for the site, was the changing of the domain from del.icio.us to delicious.com. I never saw the point as to why they chose the former—sure, it was clever, but very easy to mistype. - sevvo, on 08/01/2008, -0/+0Aaaaaahhh! Girls?!?! on teh intarw3bz? What do we do?
- tekp, on 08/05/2008, -0/+0What happened to the funky del.icio.us URL :(
- Gogogo111, on 07/31/2008, -2/+1Yeah when I first heard of it, I read it as "dell, ishio, us"...then my friend said it was delicious.
>_> - bitwiseplatypus, on 07/31/2008, -2/+1http://delicious.com/recent
- idiggurls, on 08/01/2008, -2/+1Wow. It's a lot more usable than the previous version.
- Remmiz, on 07/31/2008, -3/+2Besides the fact that trying to tell a person the URL in person was near impossible...
"Del dot icio dot us. No it spells delicious but dots after del and before us. Yes, it's a real domain." - inactive, on 07/31/2008, -4/+3I say it still stupid to change it. Even if it does redirect.
It's like when they change froogle.com to google.com/products .. ugh. - filldeviant, on 08/01/2008, -1/+0Why is this buried? Jesus, he's only expressing how much he likes Digg.
"Please, bury me with it!"
-Isaac Brock - kyledylanconner, on 08/01/2008, -2/+0Yay?
Do we really care? - Squirmy, on 08/01/2008, -2/+0i know exactly what you mean. it pisses me off too. lol.
- Squirmy, on 08/01/2008, -2/+0i know!! most of them are completely legit as well. it is getting ridiculous.
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -4/+1I have never seen this much buried comments...
- Atomic1fire, on 08/01/2008, -4/+1Well, Another day for the stupid bury brigade
- boozedrinker, on 08/01/2008, -4/+1For some reason, I really don't give a *****.
- Whitey07, on 08/01/2008, -4/+1Not sure what to think of this..
- mintt3a, on 08/01/2008, -4/+1i dont get it. what is this site for? i have digg.com
- HiroOfShadows, on 08/01/2008, -12/+8Am I the only one that thinks Delicious is the most generic looking website possible?
- SolidSnak, on 08/01/2008, -5/+1well i think........***** it, I'll just get buried anyways
- yerbestfrend12, on 07/31/2008, -25/+21Yeah it looks great, but I can't help but think they've lost something by changing the url from del.icio.us to delicious.com. del.icio.us was quirky and interesting, delicious.com is normal and boring (the url, I mean, not the site itself).
Does anyone know if they had an actual reason for it? - nonks, on 08/01/2008, -6/+1finally
- Selvo, on 08/01/2008, -6/+1In the words of Tyra Banks...
"Your wildest dreams have come TRUEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSwYMHkZgLg) - jla1987, on 08/01/2008, -6/+1I can't believe they changed the URL! Wow, goes to show I haven't used the thing in ages....nor will I now.
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -11/+6To stop sucking?
- KOfMyBasement, on 08/01/2008, -8/+3Why are the majority of the comments buried? Get a ***** life you nerds.
- filldeviant, on 08/01/2008, -6/+1"Hey everyone, click the thumbs down button to anyone that has a different opinion than yourself! It's all the rage nowadays!"
- wezults, on 07/31/2008, -8/+3Can someone please explain the reason for the delicious stigma.
