- discourse, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22it's called firefox
- brandonvan, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13If only the internet had something useful to download...
- CeeJayDK, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13Porn ?
- Gatesophile, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Hmm. You would've thought that "Firefox Add-ons" would've tipped people off...
- funkonomics, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Dugg because it looked so lonely :)
- MrSlumberjack, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Sweet, but the more of these babies you get, the slower Firefox gets.
- parkermauney, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7It's DownThemAll NubCake.
- ionut, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I bet Mashable didn't even try those Firefox extensions. They probably did a search for "download" at mozilla.org: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=download&status=4 .
- KniteWulf, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9Dugg for lack of BREAKING, [PIC], MUST SEE etc. etc.
And for the amazing add-ons. - kupa, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5To be honest, I've been disappointed with many of "download stuff" plugins. As weird as it sounds, I've had much more luck with Firebug, since it shows you exactly what you are downloading (Net), even if its through a SWF player thing. Doesn't take much to find the real file location either.
You always hit some obscure site that the plugin can't handle, then you're SOL, well, until you stumble across the Net tab under Firebug. - spect3r, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Sometimes people digg to bookmark & read later.
- thinkycap, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4DownloadThemAll + Firebug
DONE. - wooptoo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The flash 9 plug-in for linux has a "bug": it saves the current playing flash video to /tmp as something like Fqenh7q6. All you have to do is wait for the video to complete streaming, then make a copy of that file and add the .flv extension to it :) (you have to test this on your distro though...)
- ani625, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7post can has comments?
- ani625, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Do you mean, download the internets?
- kevyn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2now if anyone knows how to download fabchannel.com videos.... I would be eternally grateful!
- demodawid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I highly recommend Unplug. Does everything videodownloader does and more, and it's always available since it's the extension itself which does the job instead of a webpage.
- yahoofrom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2i'm being installed into ur firefox slowing down ur firefox.
- DigeratiPrime, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Ook? Video Ook! enables you to download embedded videos from several systems (such as YouTube, Google Video, Pornotube, Metacafe and many more).
* just one click downloading (just set a target folder on the options dialog once and then click on the status icon or the button where active).
* DownThemAll! integration for better download experience
* file renaming after video title (if you want so)
* files can be stored in a specific folder
* customizable toolbar button
* hideable status icon indicates which specific pages are supported: you can also check the About dialog to get a general idea
* send your requests for sites support or other comments directly from the extension (I'm working on the server side right now)
* new support can be added on the fly using the autoupdate feature
check it and ask for more if you need it. soon regular updates will be available.

- computergod, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3The best thing I have found for downloading videos so far has been WM Recorder. It puts the network card in promiscuous mode and scans the incoming bit stream for video files. It works great for sites that use custom flash players where you can't find the flv in the page source.
Unfortunately, it's Windows only, and it's also not free. Does anyone know of something similar for Linux?

- shredswithpiks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1does not work on my favorite image boards anymore :(
- loconet, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Here is a very simple, small, and extremely handy addon I use all the time: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/435

- wooptoo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Oh yea, and don't close the tab/window with the video while doing this because it will erase the file
- TjLAXattack, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Lonely... Mr. Lonely...

- FireAtWill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1As much as I love the Fox that's on Fire, I really don't need it occupying more system resources than it already does.
- TjLAXattack, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1good point. comment redacted.
- IHaveIssues, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Why?

- hardcle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1This is the first time in a long time one of these lists of extensions has actually had something useful in it. The pterodactl extension will make it a lot easier to collect certain types of photos.

http://www.visitcamposol.com/ - palta38, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3in opera you can use some userjavascripts like "Extra download links" (http://userjs.org/scripts/general/enhancements/extra-download-links) also you can use the "dowload embeds" script (http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/operaStuff/userJavaScript.html) also you can use several greasemonkey scripts so you can dowload videos from sites like youtube and for batch download just use the links panel that comes with opera (i like the "Show Links in Page Dialog" button that you can find in this page http://operawiki.info/CustomButtons) and use the search dialog to filter the links.
