- dan4prez, on 10/12/2007, -4/+191Here is a link to the site for those that don't want to read the article and just get to the porn quicker:
http://www.mosexindex.com/ - hodyoaten, on 10/12/2007, -3/+183Oh boy, thanks... it's impossible to navigate wired.com with one hand.
- ArthurSucks, on 10/12/2007, -7/+51I thought it said "DIGG OR PORN?"
I was like, wha? You can't tell the difference? - utkwes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43You obviously don't know how to get attention with a title, now do you?
- ephemeral, on 10/12/2007, -4/+41A porn site posted on digg?
/me looks towards the horizon for a subtle glow of pure energy as all their servers go silent. - netburnr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+41If you think your not already being tracked, you in for a rude awakening....especially if you use any major search engines to find stuff.
- MrKlaatu, on 10/12/2007, -33/+69"When you create your MoSex Index user profile, you answer several questions about your sexual orientation, gender and preferences, then rate sexual situations based on how strongly they turn you on or off. Finally, you rate several pictures on how they affect you".
Sorry, but some random Site that keeps my pr0n preferences in its User DB......
MEH!!...don't think so!! - jsreid, on 10/12/2007, -5/+36screw digg. i have a new favorite site.
- wurzelgummage, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30It's got to be better than the porno version of youtube.. for some reason, guys seem to think everyone wants to see their dick.
- MetricLobster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28Consider the average digg users attentnion span.
i have an attention span???..... should i get a doctor to remove it... and whats it goo----- ooo something shiny - vertigoblue, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26i was screaming "nooo!" because i thought i was going to have to choose...
- garyh84, on 10/12/2007, -9/+26Uhm... and you couldn't just lie? Seriously people, that thing in your head.... you use it to think.
- noGoodNamesLeft, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Ironic; the site being described *is* a sort of Screw Digg...
And apparently "screwdigg.com" hasn't been taken yet. Hmm... - dohidied, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Some people are ashamed of the fact that they like to watch She-males have sex with Preggos.
- betacmag4u, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17NOT ME !!!!
http://mrl.nyu.edu/~dhowe/TrackMeNot/ - EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11This is a step in the right direction. I've always thought the best content sites would be a combination of group opinion (Digg), collaborative filtering (last.fm), good editors, and personalization options (My Yahoo).
Each method has their advantages, but I don't think anybody has put it all together yet. - noGoodNamesLeft, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17Don't see why MrKlaatu got Dugg down so badly. His reservations are perfectly valid- it's a potentially massive invasion of privacy, even if it's possible to work round it.
- steelmaverick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Most likely.
- pilot3033, on 10/12/2007, -7/+17That's why I log out of google before I go porn surfing. (not foolproof obviously, but at least it's harder to actually find me. And I doubt anyone really cares about the adult content I look for anyway)
- TheSaladMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11@ Arthur
.....There's a difference? - OverThere, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16there has been a digg for porn for a while.
www.socialporn.com - FlaG8r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I want them to know my preferences so they can keep making better porn. ***** anyone that has a problem with my tastes.
- einfeldt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Again, this is NOT a link to porn. It's a link to Wired.com journalist Regina Lynn. Regina is actually quite a brilliant journalist who does very interesting column for Wired.com about the crossover between sex and tech. If you want to read archives of her stories, you can read them here:
http://www.wired.com/storylist/1306-0-0.html
Please note that the above link is temporarily freaky on Firefox, Konqueror, Opera, and Ephiphany. Regina told me that they are trying to fix it. You can still read it, and the links are all good, but the text is rendered in a very long, very skinny column. Meh. But you still can get the idea, and follow the links.
At any rate, IMHO, Regina Lynn will be remembered as a pioneer in sex and tech, because she is really good at holding candid conversations about sex and tech in a way that is not slimy, smarmy, or commercial. She's really doing something that no one else has done. I read her column every Friday. I've also interviewed her for Mad Penguin magazine, for which I was a volunteer staff writer before Adam Doxtater sold Mad Penguin:
http://madpenguin.org/cms/index.php/index.php?m=show&id=6659
If you like sex, and are into tech, you really owe it to yourself to read Regina's work. She also has written a book called the Sexual Revolution 2.0:
http://www.reginalynn.com/wordpress/?page%20id=2
BTW, I am a friend of Regina's, if you count having had dinner with her once, but I'm not 1) her boyfriend; 2) her publicist; 3) a co-worker; 4) her lawyer; or 5) even someone she hangs out with frequently. I'm just someone who thinks she has some good ideas. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Compare your titles. The 'news' that you were actually presenting could be explained explicetly in three words. You choose to use 8, a semicolon, and an obscure name at the begining that (since it's 'news') no one was going to relate to in the first two nanoseconds of seeing your story.
Consider the average digg users attentnion span. - garyh84, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Google accounts...
- shaun1018, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Opps wrong digg. Looks like Digg Effect got to this one before I did.
- Battlecry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Taste networking?
- c0uchm0nster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Yes, in your user profile tell them you're gay, and rate all the pictures of men really highly and the ones of women lowly - that'll teach them to try and get information about you! oh, and the only side effect is the site will be useless to you since you dont really like gay porn.... I wish i could think as well as you, man.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7gives new meaning to the word "bury"
- madc0w, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Spankwire.com is similar also
- ddano, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9AWESOME concept (and pretty good in practice so far!)! It's made by a legit museum, not some pornsite company.
We gotta build this up since its taste-networking feature DEPENDS on users (obviously); using some kind of collaberative filtering engine I guess. COOL! Digg doesn't deal with erotic content as its policy so I think this site is necessary for all us pervies...
Besides, you can keep anonymous by just not including an email address (and use new secure browser that diguises IP addresses if u r paranoid... whats it called?)
- OBKenobi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6The stuff posted on there looks exactly like one of those Top 100 lists, or sites you find via other commercial porn sites or galleries.
The best porn is on p2p, and via forums, blogs and all these new free porn-hosting Youtube clones that have sprung up all over the place. - xamox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Here are 2 good ones:
http://www.spankwire.com
http://www.pornotube.com - shoeshine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6A bunch of you guys are too paranoid. So what if you tell them stuff about what gets you off.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4mosex index is sooo slooow ... (my left hand is much much faster :))
- DarthFredd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah, when I was 4, I had the idea for the Monorail. I even built a small model with legos and magnets. But, nobody believes me enough to give me money for having a good idea as a kid.
Also, I'm secretly a genius, but nobody believes that either. I wonder why? - einfeldt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It is my experience that socialporn.com became dominated by commercial porn sites who are merely using socialporn.com to advertise. Does anyone else have the same opinion?
- mvanhorn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5A new up and comer is http://www.crappybeer.com
- frukt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Spanish peacekeeping contingent lands in Lebanon - Euronews.net"
not my kind of porn - Battlecry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Sweet!
- razei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.blackboxsearch.com
- mc1123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2perhaps, yeah.
- noGoodNamesLeft, on 10/12/2007, -9/+11Yes, and as the site has been struck down it looks like He disapproves of you masturbating to porn.
- dyl0n, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6It's like dial up out there! Stop looking at porn and give others a turn!
- ChileanGoD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Mosex is getting dugg
- ddano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yeah but it sucks!! that's why their traffic is down. This site is way smarter and more effective! i actually get some pretty good recommendations and they just started... should get even better. plus who the hell runs socialporn, a pornsite or meneame/pligg dufus. i put more trust in the museum of sex, a real place. anyway, that's my two cents!
- molochi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Actually I think they got plowed...
- senfo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Screw you both. I invented the wheel!
- insaneliberal, on 05/09/2009, -0/+1As far as I can tell the only actual social porn sites left from this post are http://www.vickysdrawer.com/, and http://www.nsfwck.com/
- noGoodNamesLeft, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@garyh84; Doesn't matter- they still have a collection of sexual preferences of one (admittedly anonymous) person, your IP address and potentially tie-ups with their advertisers on that site or other sites.
And don't you seriously think that data-mining/analysis tools will have advanced massively in (say) the next 10 years, enough to pick up on clues and threads and use them to tie disparate data about you from different sources together? But.... all that data they have will have disappeared into thin air before then. They'll definitely erase it. Won't they?
People who think they're anonymous just because they sign out or remove cookies are the ones who aren't thinking things through. -
