- bmatherlyjr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The crime here is negligence, while it's understood that the victim took her life into her own hands and could have withdrawn from the competition at anytime the station holds the burden of responsibility. While the radio station (or it's parent company) will be faced with a civil wrongful death case, criminal charges for negligent homicide for the employees directly responsible for the gimmick is still possible and should be sought. It was completely an ill-conceived idea from the start.

I wonder if it was expressed how dangerous it was or it was a "here sign this formality that says we aren't responsible if you get hurt" ... people sign those all the time but expect the other party to act in good faith not to put them in direct danger.
