- D-Man, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26Besides the fact that the Java applet will temporarily freeze your computer while it loads (then take it's sweet time loading), it looks pretty interesting. Nice find.
- t0dd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I digg it. Here is the link to the starting point opposed the page preloaded with digg: http://www.touchgraph.com/TGGoogleBrowser.html

I'm using a Dell Dimension 4100 from about five years ago and had no trouble. - sldSquirrel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow, that's awesome. It's fun to enter URL's of some small sites I know, and look at all the linked pages from the forums.
- elkos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4it runs slowly on my Firefox 1.5 SuSE 10.0 box on an Athlon 1800+ 256MB RAM through a 56.6 dial-up
- dw2005, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Ouch - Instant Crash in IE7 b2

- steveng, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21.42 Mac Mini PPC with Safari, no issues
Reminds me of LivePlasma.com, only less colorful - redfox2600, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ahh good to see something that was featured on TSS a good many years ago is still alive and kicking. Now all we need is something that fully maps the directory on a web server.
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3crashes opera. and I have a 3500+ and 1gb RAM, no digg. POS app.
- ki1022, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ahhh, finally got it to work. Had to go through the link that someone else posted above...
- jaydee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1just crashed me out of a FF session with 15 tabs open.. thanks for the link
- saisumimen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3on a more relevant note: it's good to see that digg has more influence than boingboing and slashdot ;p
no problems at all here: firefox on win xp sp2... loaded up in under 4 seconds; i don't know what's the matter with some of you retards. - t0dd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3digg is not a news site, its a "news to you site"
- tybris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Let me try to explain it:
Anything with -0 diggs ... sucks
Anything with a lot of diggs ... people care, get over it. - Voodooengine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Very Cool!
- joelito, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Loaded nicely on my laptop, 1.4ghz celeron with 256mb of memory running firefox on Ubuntu and five tabs open
- t0dd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3perfect for me on firefox 1.5.0.3 - fast2

- starmanjones, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1>>besides the fact that the Java applet will temporarily freeze your computer while it loads (then

>Only on Windows does it do that.
ha! i was going to point that out too. i'm in the middle of some web stuff on my little 800 mhz G4 - i have golive, photoshop, 4 browsers... bbedit.. iphoto... thunderbird... a few graphic tools... actually more but those are the hogs... and no hesitation. :D i love it. the browser i'm using, shiira, had 10 tabs and i switched to the other tabs while it was loading. - RpgActioN, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6I've got an Athlong 64 3500+ and 1 Ghz DDR400...and the ***** thing crashes firefox before it loads fully. No digg for that sloppy *****.
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I think it's time for Kami to take a class in English.
It ridiculus to that you talk this. - DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4No, that's because IE7 is only a *beta*.
Don't be an asshat with such cheap shots. - CapnCornflake, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22.4ghz P4 with a gig of PC2100 RAM and Firefox 1.0.7 on WinXP, and this runs perfectly fine; no troubles at all.
- Arkz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1hmmm im guessing it was just going slow when it was under heavy load.. cause it only took a few secs on my laptop running on a Mobile C4 2.4GHz with 768 of DDR333 (and shared graphics...*vomits*) and FF 1.5, XP SP2
- nuclearsnake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Works for me. X2 4200+ 1GB RAM, FF 1.5.0.3, etc, etc
- KAMI_no_kodomo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@turgor: It dit firefox freeze in Linux here.
No digg becose I don't like Java aplets and specally if they let freeze my brouwser... - wtfkeyhole2pro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Now, of course, I'm not suggesting anyone to download illegal copies of movies."
I shall follow his suggestion. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4*****, java needs to be banned from the internet.
- Bonzodog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I have Ubuntu Dapper 64 running Firefox 1.5.0.3, and Blackdown Java - not suns own. It works perfectly on my system, It may be a few years old, but some of us have never seen it. I think that this is a cool Item, and so it's dugg.
- tybris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's good to see applets are still alive, but this isn't doing their reputation any good.
If you have big jars use URLClassLoader to load them and NEVER use the awt/swing thread to do your work. - blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Worked fine for me on FF1.5 Windows - cool find.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Blah! Java!
- seventoes, on 10/12/2007, -9/+8thats because IE was made by microsoft.
- guarnibl, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4this is stupid -- it freezes my computer, can't even view it... tried from both my centos box and my win box... no digg.. lame.
- dswinscoe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2For those whining about their Firefox/Java install, why don't you just try a quick update and move on. Just tried with 1.5 of each and it pops up in less than 3 seconds. I'm often amazed how quickly people jump to the conclusion that it's the app and not their installation ... often the same folks running win95 and IE 4. The world moves on people, and if you don't stay up-to-date you might just miss it!
I found this to be a great site cloud visualization tool, something akin to CNET's "The Big Picture", http://news.com.com/The+Big+Picture/2030-12_3-5843390.html, but this tool takes it a big step further so that you can map any site - definitely digg-worthy. - pdawg90, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0As in my previous post, it works for me.
I'm using, in addition to my old Dell, whatever the newest version of Firefox is. 2.[whatever]. Well not the newest Alpha, but you get the point. It's Firefox nonetheless. - netburnr, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4It didnt really work on any sites I tried other than digg and google :
- ki1022, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2same here
- MHZmaster, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Yeah, doesn't seem to work with Firefox... No excuse for that. But kind of a cool look at the internet. Still, no digg.
- 5abi, on 10/12/2007, -15/+6it froze my amd 64 x2 4800 2gb ram running firefox1.5
no digg - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -17/+8I don't know about you, but I have Java disabled in Firefox for precisely this reason.
And no, this doesn't look like a site that's worth enabling Java over. -
