- AndyBeard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14MyBlogLog isn't a blogging site, it is a distributed social network with built in analytics. The community features work well as long as various forms of spam are eliminated. It is a little too easy to "gmae" atm for traffic. That being said the developers knocked it together with a very small team, without funding, and yet still have time to respond to blog comments from the community. It is cool when you report a bug, and one of the founders responds to your email.
- xerus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9...what the hell is MyBlogLog?
- drjekelmrhyde, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Why do you people bash Yahoo ?
Why did you people Bash ATT till you found out Cingular is partnering with Apple on the iphone ?
Do Yahoo need to buy Digg to make you happy? - stalefries, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"Yahoo are smart"

That's where I stopped reading. - freff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The very fact that you would care enough to ask that question increases their value for Yahoo. I'd never heard of them before, but now that Yahoo owns them, they'll have a brief period of time to prove to people that they are worth a damn.
It'll be interesting to see what happens. - tsampson2000, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7@ sicc
As one of the Founders of MyBlogLog, I can guarantee that that little feature will not go away. But many, many more great new ones will show up soon -- including having enough server power to not slow down when we get hit by the Digg Effect. ;)

What would be wrong if Yahoo bought Digg
Yahoo havent messed up Flickr I see diggers using Flickr links everyday - goostoff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5So Yahoo paid $10 million for a giant *****?
- thinkycap, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I guess this is where I should point out that search engine aside, Yahoo pretty much stomps Google in almost every other category - news, email, etc, etc.
But then again, maybe I'm placing too much stock in people's attention to facts on Digg.
Carry on. - GaffleSnipe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't think Yahoo buying Digg would make any digg users "happy"

If one of your stories wasn't promoted, you can assume it was lacking in its title, description, or was simply the victim of bad timing. - tafkase7en, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh my bad...Usually when something is called mybloglog it has something to do with blogging....
- lnf69, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hi Doc,
They probably won't change it, but what about protecting user data from from the gov't. Another reason I love Google, they never caved in when the feds came knocking, unlike Yahoo! and MSN and others. Google took the feds to court and won, to protect US, their users. - sicc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@ AndyBeard
Well, now that Yahoo owns it, I guess that cool little feature is all but extinct, hmm? - lnf69, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yahoo! used to be my starting point for the net. I used to do all my searches there, my main email was from Yahoo! domain, chatting etc. AND then Google came along and changed all that. No comparison.
Yahoo! used to be great, just like Netscape used to be the best alternative to MS Browsing, (Firefox now), and then we got a taste of something better.
I know it's being tough, but Google came and redefined what Web portals should be. - Lyndoman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Mybloglog is cool, anyone who uses it knows how useful it can be. Most of the negative comments seem to be from people who don't even know what it is. Google should have bought it first.
Maybe Google are saving their pennies to buy Digg. - landofconfusion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why would Google buy MyBlogLog, when they already have Analytics / Urchin?
Also....will MyBlogLog be free now instead of $3 / month? - DJSdotcom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Skored you got punked!
- gbowskill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Knowledgeable sources? As in MyBlogLog themselves? On their blog? http://mybloglogb.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/01/the_jig_is_up_m.html
- lnf69, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I just signed up to see what's it all about. The site lags, and lots of mySQL error messages. Due to new traffic generated by Digg?
- horatiub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been using mybloglog on two of my blogs, and I found it very useful. I already built a nice community and the feedback is great. The application actually has a lot of potential and I'm sure it will improve
- nassercom, on 03/27/2009, -0/+0http://www.bnat-mkh.com/vb
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4never heard of it but I guess it must be worth $10mil if Yahoo are buying it.......
- sonochamp, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3It's only worth $10 mil because Yahoo is buying it.
- Martiny2m, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I hate yahoo, hotmail FTW
- surfryder, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2huh :( why cant yahoo give away some money to the needy people instead of wasting it on some hank-panky wasteful start-ups? i can too put up a patch of code in my site to track my visitors; i dont need a mybloglog account (that too paid!!) to count my visitors...
- lnf69, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Ever since Google showed up on the scene, Yahoo! has been chasing it's own tail trying to keep up with Google.
- AndyBeard, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Link for original announcement on the MyBlogLog blog http://www.digg.com/tech_deals/Yahoo_Buys_MyBlogLog_for_real_this_time
- alicam, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Yahoo are smart. Give them time to show us how this fits into their "arsenal".
One thing I wonder about is the kind of data you can collect with this thing. Basically it knows about everywhere I visit, or so I assume. The right kind of data mining, then, could dig up all kinds of interesting stuff about me and everyone else using the service.
But it's also great for the people surfing around. It's really freaky seeing your own picture on someone else's site! It just is. Course there's more to it than that, and better minds than me can more deeply analyze Yahoo's intentions, I'm sure. - skored, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2This story is a DUPE - I posted at the same time from the original source: http://digg.com/tech_news/Yahoo_Acquires_Mybloglog_com and this one wound up getting picked up.
- WarpFox, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4And in other news, Yahoo, like the retarded cousin that just tries so hard but can't get anything right, still loses in every category to google.
- tafkase7en, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4How many blogging sites do we need?
- koregaonpark, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1The Arrested Development guy?
