Comcast: 250 GB Cap Coming October 1st?

consumerist.com — Broadband Reports is saying that they've confirmed through several sources that Comcast is going to be instituting a 250GB cap on their high speed internet.

  • xmjwx, on 08/28/2008, -1/+3A cap on "unlimited" broadband is a classic case of bait and switch and illegal. In other words, it's doubtful it will happen.

    Thank god I use roadrunner. 10Mb download, unlimited bandwidth $47/month
  • mutant, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1This is so awesome.. I mean I'm really excited to hear that my business internet is now in jeopardy. I happen to run my business out of my house, I do a TON of PSD transfers, in a month, it's well over 250GB.. A call to Comcast proved that NOBODY in Comcast technical or account support had any idea this was coming. I tried to find out if business accounts were under the same restrictions and could find absolutely no answer.

    Vonage customers are in for a real suprise at this turn of events. This sucks.
