- Massif, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pretty sweet. What's with the lack of a domain name though? Almost made me think it was a fake article.
- slowspin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, they were working on one at CU in Boulder for the last 20 years at a lab there, they used to be traded publicly until they fell down on their faces thrying to create it. Their stock went from $22 a share to like .01 a share, then they were traded in penny stocks until they finally went out of business. This is the first successful substitue they have made.
- mmcvey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Something like this was developed here in the states at the University of Iowa a few years back...................I don't know how similar the two are, but I'm just sayin'............
- slowspin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good point. They already use EPO for cyclists to carry more oxygen, funny thing is it is legal as a regular-use item, basically just a blood expander with albumen in it, but illegal if you are competing in a sport. I bet this stuff will be a new "hot item" for long-distance competitions.
- slowspin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I submitted this article, and even I was worried about that. Good story, though.
- Randude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That is awesome news!
- dean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"The key to the artificial blood is a fluorinated hydrocarbon that can carry more oxygen than real blood."
how long before artificial blood is being used to cheat in sports? - geoboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Vampire's rejoice? Yeah right. Just like how wine conissieurs would rejoice over artificial wine. *rolls eyes*

Hmm... Wonder if there is any stock to be traded here.. peeps might be setup for some fraud. - PacoBell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"The artificial blood is a white emulsion of fluorinated hydrocarbons dispersed in water and surfactants"
Whoa! It's just like the synthetics from Aliens XD - DannoHung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Schway
