As we understand it, last weekend James, his wife Kati (above right), and his very young girls Penelope (left) and Sabine (baby), drove from their home in the SF Bay Are

The roads were REALLY icey. The sensible people didn't go to work on Tuesday. Traffic on I5 was moving at 18mph for hours near Seattle.

      I hope he's okay. It is quite likely he's waiting out the weather in a hotel somewhere.

      Seriously though, this story is pretty upsetting. Their extended family, and coworkers must be sick with worry right now. I sure hope it turns out to be nothing serious.

It states they're never without their phones/PDAs which means they have no power or devices for some reason and there's the really bad winter storm coming across the country... They were expected back some time Sunday, but were last heard from Saturday in or between Gold Beach or Portland, Oregon. We sincerely do hope they are all safe, and our hearts go out to the Kim family.

    We'll have more information as we get it. If you have any information as to the Kim family's whereabouts, please contact the SFPD at 415-558-5508 during normal business hours, and 415-553-1071 after hours.

      I really do hope he is ok, to be honest in my opinion simply hearing that James and his family are missing is harder to swallow than Steve Irwin dying from that sting... this is sad news.

Also, Steve Irwin was engaged in a dangerous jobs where he knew the risks. When a whole family goes missing, it seems so much worse. These were people who were just trying to get home. I hope they are found safe, soon.

Go to a review page of an MP3 Player on CNET and he will probably be in the video. I'd link to one, but The only one I've seen him in so far is for the Zune, and I feel that by posting a link to the Zune review/video review it'd create discussion that's not needed here. Just letting you guys know how you can see this guy.

    i'm sure this guy has five cell phones, a broadband card, and any other communications device that exists.

    unless he decided to take his family on a trip away from city life, and wants to avoid communication from the outside world, then i'm guessing something has gone seriously wrong.

It is very possible that his car swerved when he hit an ice patch (hope not) but more likely, he got stuck in frozen traffic and might still be in his car with his cellphone battery dead.

    My brother got stuck in one of those traffic squalls and it took him 6 hours to go 15 miles.
