- cpritchard, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23People watch TV? Why?

- nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11The people at the nursing home won't change the channel.
- nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Google is too young to be on 60 minutes . . . maybe in 75 years.
- Aiwanei, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11imcopa guess you don't like CSI (and it's offshoots), Numb3rs and other quality program. Oh well, your loss.
- powderedsnow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Does not it seem that everybody is merging with everybody, and that sooner or later there will be nothing left to merge?
- thebenchase, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Important step towards the integration of TV, phone, and internet into one super-network, i think.
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Not "smart" so much as less stupid than the 70 year old relics running the other networks. Still, better late than never.
- PureHeretic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5We should think up a name for this giant super network
- javaroast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Buried as inaccurate.
"CITING EXPECTATIONS THAT A MAJOR ad sales agreement with Google is imminent, securities firm Merrill Lynch reaffirmed its "buy" rating for CBS stock." - HardwareLust, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5It's AOL-Time Warner all over again.

- truspark, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Big mistake, but then again, so was buying Youtube. Welcome to the internet behemoth with billions of fantasy cash and no idea what to do with it part 3.
- mickeyknoxxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1armchair analyst. lol
now thats funny. - Alphabet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you think it's such a bad deal, capitalize on it by shorting google stock. Or are you just an armchair analyst who just says ***** without doing any research on it.

I'm kind of confused here.. I'm pretty sure CBS has some of the biggest hit shows. Maybe back when you were younger you remember it being the 'old people' tv station.. it has really turned around. Every time I flip on NBC its some crap drama show and.. eh we don't even get ABC down here. CBS is doing good, so this will be a jump in the right direction for google and CBS. Makes me wonder if we'll see other deals beyond CBS, with MTV, VH1, and every other Viacom station. - Fhionnlaoch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@strictnein
I think Jericho is a pretty interesting show. Although, I don't tune into CBS for it, I just go to the "A Channel." - Spr0k3t, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This could prove interesting. CBS has some of my preferred shows. Not only that but it would make MS/NBC squirm... and I like that.
- sekyuritei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1partnership between Google and CBS "may be" .... imminent. Huh?
- acff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1myspace wont be around later this year, much less 2056
- almalax19, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just advertising probably. If you want the flexibility to watch it on the net you gotta suffer thru a few ads.

"Google is believed to be in negotiations with CBS over how to monetize the network's television content through YouTube."
I always thought the world would be a better place once we monetize as much as we can. I already pay a cable bill for CBS, is this a case of double-monetize? - DJSdotcom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1An Apple and Cisco agreement over "iPhone" was imminent as well and look what happened.
- mickeyknoxxx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1January 15th, 2056.
This just in: Google, Fox, Microsoft and Myspace have formed an alliance to create the super company Gosoft-Foxspace. The company will be headed by CEO Lucifer "Anti-Christ" Archangel who will be expecting all citizens of the world to bare a mark. Exactly what mark and where has not been announced yet. - LoneStar, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4People post dumb comments? Why?
-how ironic of me to post this - gd007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1this is great!
- palmer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Um, no.
It's just another big step down for quality. What hipocrisy: "HD" was a big buzzword in 2005, and we still can't get decent SD. Now people are lining up to trowel out and slurp up dog crap masquerading as "video" on the Web.
Someday soon we'll be harking back to how good VHS looked. - mickeyknoxxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0something tells me your right.
- greg9683, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Comedy Central is Viacom. So is CBS. Good for all the Comedy Central fans who use youtube.
- trosenbl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0New companies are being formed every day, and don't forget that companies spin off divisions into new companies.
It might seem that way, but it's not the case. - Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1A five year old child could do a better job.
- sachmanb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Reminds me of Time merging with Warner Brothers (news + entertainment) -- changed the mediascape drastically
- almalax19, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yea I'm sure you could do a much better job.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Who even watches tv any more? It is a total commercial spam deluge. Bwahahaha he said monetize, youtube and google in the same sentence.
- CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5Those are some smart folks working at CBS. Anyone else watch the Unit, great show.
- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -12/+4People watch CBS? Why?
