- lnxfi, on 03/13/2008, -3/+35"connect together to form larger, intelligent machines"
Do they not mean Voltron? - DavidinBoston, on 03/13/2008, -1/+32I, for one, welcome our new tiny robot overlords.
- jordanmerle, on 03/13/2008, -1/+19This is how skynet was created.
- shortyjacobs, on 03/13/2008, -0/+13Forget Transformers, BSG, and Terminator.....
These are obviously Replicators!!! Hopefully they learn to make the sexy human-like models faster than the TV versions.... - junkstore, on 03/13/2008, -1/+13You're especially wrong considering that lIght years measure distance.
- mechman, on 03/13/2008, -0/+11Sugarbots, assemble!
- WaterDragon, on 03/13/2008, -0/+10They will be known as legobots
- junkstore, on 03/13/2008, -0/+8The Daily Mail approximates a sugar cube to Optimus Prime in what might be their biggest exaggeration to date.
"It would contain a small computer brain, making it as intelligent as an iPod"
Hahaha - Doctoxicated, on 03/13/2008, -0/+8finally the day has come where I will be able to add a walking boombox robot to my crew.
- topherdavis, on 03/13/2008, -1/+8They have to be rude, sexist and bizarre to be real life transformers! Does any one remember the cartoon? ;)
- Aero1, on 03/13/2008, -0/+7YOU GOT THE TOUCH!!!! YOU GOT THE POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!
- HarryTruman, on 03/13/2008, -0/+6Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana.
- evernerve, on 03/13/2008, -0/+5You mean your mother is in the asylum right now planning how to get out? While you're running around on your bike hacking ATMs?
- Maxter, on 03/13/2008, -0/+5I'm gonna take it that none of these guys have ever seen a robot movie...
- noahhoward, on 03/13/2008, -1/+6How can you be buried for invoking Voltron.
- TangerineCheese, on 09/18/2008, -1/+5http://stargateonlinetcg.station.sony.com/spoilers ...
Fifth approves, waits for his replicator brethren to take over the earth. - okaroleo, on 03/13/2008, -0/+4as long as they don't reach iPhone level of intelligence i think we'll be fine.
- Mr.Gone, on 03/13/2008, -1/+5Grey goo
- nekochan, on 03/13/2008, -0/+4gray. the phrase is 'gray goo'. and that's for nanobots, not angrysugarcubebots.
- thespiff, on 03/13/2008, -0/+4Stop Digging the Daily Mail you fools! This is is the Weekly World News of Great Britain. It's *****. Do you Digg the Wolf Boy or the 200 lb. baby stories? No! So quit digging this rubbish!
- cJw314, on 03/13/2008, -1/+4In before lame ass comment about welcomi - oh, nm.
-.- - 4d669, on 03/13/2008, -1/+4This is what happens to people when they don't get laid.
"They could be used in medicine, in space exploration and in search and rescue missions," ha ha ha, oh wow... - surKaz, on 03/13/2008, -0/+3I believe we have about 5 -8 years before a proper self-aware, self-concious mind even close to sci-fi is developed.. .. I''m starting my terminator lessons now..
- evernerve, on 03/13/2008, -0/+3I suppose that people laughed too while the computers where as big as rooms and worked with punch-cards, if someone told them that X years from now they will be carrying them in their pockets, taking pictures with them and using them as phones. Actually, Tesla DID predict cell phones - he even said that they would be small enough to fit in a pocket. Really small and intelligent is actually possible, daily mail or not. We'll be seeing little spiders that scan retinas as shown in Minority Report soon, I guess.
- leerayIG88, on 03/13/2008, -0/+3I will prevent that from happening
- sharkd, on 03/13/2008, -0/+3>British scientists' project to create real-life Transformers
Didn't Takara and Hasbro beat them to it, 24 years ago? - Tribis, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2Does the fact that Daily Mail is the British equivalent of Weekly World News not mean anything to anyone?
- Shabadoo, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2Yeah. This is going to turn out well....
- houndeyex, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2Prey.
- djblac, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2yeah i was thinking, gross...power rangers!
- jjcyber, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2Hellz yeah! When/where can I pre-order mine?
- Mr.Gone, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2One giant robot could make a million cups of coffee sweeter!
- MikeSD34, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2I think we'll call him.... soundwave.
- evernerve, on 03/13/2008, -2/+4...or Terminator. But we are light years away from any machine that will be self-conscious or anywhere near something that we can call an A.I.
- jordanmerle, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2There is no fate but what you make
- sharkd, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2After all is said and done
You've never walked, you've never run...
You're a winner! - tao52nyc, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2Exactly - from Stargate SG1...this is probably how THEY got started, too...next you know, organic life GONE.
- void, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2I, for one, am getting sick of this joke.
- zzz@tkz, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2Nanobots == codeword for children?
- WaterDragon, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2And even scarier....did they watch (the movie) Maximum Overdrive? Those weren't even bots, but they still took over.
- boejangles, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2self-healing and selforganising you say?.... humm interesting. Well, we had a good ride while it lasted.
- TCommonSenseM, on 03/14/2008, -0/+1But can they play Crysis?
Or blend? - blackjack75, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1My iPod is very smart. He litterally speaks to me and he knows lots of things, It's almost as if his head was filled with books.
- blackjack75, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1As much as the fact that it does make the frontpage on digg on a daily basis: we actually want crap. I dugg it, read it and commented. I feel free now.
- cosmicr, on 03/13/2008, -1/+2no, it is 'grey', not gray.
at least according to wikipedia (and my dictionary). - the999, on 03/14/2008, -0/+1What could POSSIBLY go wrong?
- blackjack75, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1If a civilization somewhere in outer space has achieved such progress then it probably actually is light years away.
- deathscytheh64, on 03/14/2008, -0/+1Projects like these are how the end of the world begins.
