- jonesin, on 05/13/2008, -0/+29Very sad. MVGroup has given me more education than any other media source, ever. Thanks so much Merrin, for all you've done to educate the world. Rest In Peace.

Seed till death my friends. - inactive, on 05/13/2008, -1/+10they need a bury button with options such as "user is retarded" so eventually it will prevent them from submitting comments.
- papaslurp, on 05/13/2008, -0/+7Thanks Merrin for putting together not of the best torrent sites but torrent *communities* out there. As suprnova and oink have fallen by the wayside, this is the last remaining old standby of the torrent sites. I'm completely unfamiliar with the situation but have no doubts that MVG will continue on successfully. Why? Because it is a great community with many helpful people - I see old huge and unseeded torrent series get fully reseeded from a few people asking politely. RIP Merrin.
- Foofoofoofoobar, on 05/13/2008, -0/+8It was public but low profile because MVG only dealt in documentaries and things of that nature.
- lonehunter01, on 05/13/2008, -1/+8"This guy certainly isn't more important than my dog." To you. The rest us don't care about your dog.
- Frost9999, on 05/14/2008, -1/+7Why 'that young'? It does not matter what age someone is, or how they die. It is all the same thing.
- tkcom, on 05/13/2008, -2/+8RIP Father Merrin, exorcising the RIAA.
- PueSi, on 05/13/2008, -1/+6What's up with all the stupid comments? If you don't care about this, why did you even bothered to comment?
RIP, the guy probably made a lot of people happy with his tracker. - chdodd2012, on 05/13/2008, -1/+6Good thing you're not trivializing a death...
- m0zzie, on 05/14/2008, -4/+9can you guys just stop being disrespectful jerks?
- texas85, on 05/13/2008, -0/+5RIP
- Hollowpoint, on 05/14/2008, -3/+8Your dog was a piece of *****, and in fact it deserved to die so much that after it did finally die, I dug it up, put it in the middle of the road and prceeded to drive back and forth over its increasingly mangled corpse until it was nothing but a stain on the floor.
- darkNiGHTS, on 05/14/2008, -0/+5I think that was the most touching comment I've ever read on digg.
- antdude, on 05/14/2008, -0/+3FYI.

http://forums.mvgroup.org/index.php?showtopic=2562 ... (May 11 2008, 11:43 AM):
We were all shocked on hearing the news about Merrin's death and hadn't expected we would have to face such decisions so soon...
It is intended to be an official announcement, but having spent nights, and sometimes days too, talking to Merrin, I simply can't. He always told me that MVGroup is his baby, I always teased him that I am the babysitter. It now looks like I need to become MVGroup's stepmother.
MVGroup has become what it is now thanks to the devotion and dedication of all the former and present staffers and releasers; and the generosity, bandwidth, and time of all our members. Without all those guys behind their rank badges it would not exist. Since all of us have always put all our hearts to the cause, we are going to continue the work. There will be no closing down and no major changes are intended. We will not change the policy of MVGroup of sharing knowledge with the world without ratios for free. Ever.
I hope that all of you will stay with us and we will be able to continue making this place special for us.
On behalf of all the staffers
m06166 - Rotzooi, on 05/14/2008, -0/+3Goddamn. He brought me many excellent torrents. Very sad to hear this. I hope his family is doing okay.
RIP, Merrin. - MattZed, on 05/13/2008, -0/+3Just did my first public torrent download in over a year last night. It was a torrent of BBC's Horizon program and it was released by MVGroup; the first time I had heard of this group. I was pleased when I saw that they had the episode that I wanted.
It's very sad to see that it's founder has passed away. RIP - urbandistrict, on 05/13/2008, -2/+5Juvenile at best.
- JesterOZ, on 05/14/2008, -2/+4RIP
May your memory be forever seeded at 100% bandwidth. - getbusylivin, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2Ashes to ashes.
Does anybody know what he died from? Thirty-Two is very young and I'm a hypochondriac so I'm very curious. - yingjai, on 05/14/2008, -2/+4wtf is this. the riaa didn't cause his illness. post this somewhere else.
- ChinezePanda, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3Any loss of life at this age is just tragic... same goes for any age.
RIP man.
LET OUR PRAYERS CONNECT TO THE TORRENT IN THE SKY.

- DirkDigglerDigg, on 05/13/2008, -1/+3R.I.P. Merrin.
And i hope for your sake that the Heavens "if they do exist" would be equipped with unrestricted broadband.
For someone to be snatched from life at such of a young age is just terrible. - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -8/+10RIP
- odyss3y, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3RIP... i joined mvg 4 years ago.. merrin was always friendly and a great person to be around. his tracker definitely extended my education and changed my view on the world. if only everyone was so generous.
- rdoger6424, on 05/14/2008, -1/+4ooh that seems interesting I'll check it out
- gamerzfuse, on 05/13/2008, -10/+13RIP
- DirkDigglerDigg, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Dust to dust.
I am not sure but i think he was suffering from hypochondria and that what got him in the end.
Have a healthy day and eat your carrots. - XternalHD, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1i wonder if he got "***** THE RIAA" put on his tombstone.
RIP. - None0fTheAbove, on 05/13/2008, -1/+2It's already been said I know but have my two pennies worth anyway.
Great loss to us all may his legacy live on for a long time.
Rest in peace, somehow I don't think anyone would mourn the loss of an agent of the RIAA, go figure..... -
