- zoydberg, on 12/02/2008, -0/+10about:blank is what does it for me
- aguita, on 12/02/2008, -0/+10All on one page! /gasp
- chedabob, on 12/02/2008, -0/+10I've not seen my homepage since session restore got built into Firefox.
- jboitnott, on 12/02/2008, -0/+8I am using Netvibes and like it a lot. It is very easy to use, great design and reachable through my mobile phone. I love it!
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -0/+5it really doesn't matter how smooth an operating system, its nothing without the apps that run on it. If you're a power user on the net, you may love firefox simply for all the add-ons. Same goes for startpages.
- barnis, on 12/02/2008, -2/+6IGoogle... "It doesn’t need no introduction..."
Engrish FTW! - m0zzie, on 12/02/2008, -1/+4I'm unsure why, but to this day AJAX still fascinates me.. when I think back to just a few years ago, a lot of the things we see (well technically it's the things we don't see) done by AJAX now, back then required full page reloads and a whole lot more bandwidth.
- ds143, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3dugg for all being on one page
- clockdist, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3i like my start page to be blank
- Beatmiser, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2You mean the page that doesn't let you add anything but BBC content and has huge ads everywhere?
- amgupt01, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Well it might not be Engrish... Many cool kids who are hip-wid-it use double negatives, too.
- cumiciki, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3You had me at netvibes. Thanks.
- rogue780, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3This artical is frought with mispellings. Oter then that, it is a good sight.

- pezholio, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Same for me, except I'm on Netvibes now...
- Treshnell, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2I wouldn't be surprised to see (fairly soon) an OS/PC designed fully around using the internet for the majority of the 'traditional' desktop apps. We've been moving in that direction with things like netbooks and Google Docs.
However, I think we'll need a stronger internet architecture to move completely away from dekstop PCs. Using gaming as an example, Steam is a step in the direction of the future of PC gaming: access to your games through your account from anywhere. - wastern, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Its already been done with gOS. They were selling PCs at Walmart loaded with it
- jasz, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Netvibes FTW! ... to me, it's still the best :)
- Endpoint, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1You're only bombarded with the content you want to see.. it's not like they're a platform for spamming you with stuff you don't want. Choose your content wisely and they're a good thing for some people.
- wastern, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2Am I the only one that doesn't want any of this? When I open my browser I have something in mind, I don't want to be bombarded with news and widgets. The google search Firefox start page is all I need. I've been thinking of just making it a blank page. Just launch and start typing in the Awesomebar
- Thomasaka, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1I was all about iGoogle until they moved the tabs, ruined the layout and gave the users no warning or choice in the matter. Ever since that day it's been protopage for me.
- Endpoint, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Netvibes is great; the UWA (Universal Widget API) they let you build new widgets with is pretty decent too.. allowing you to deploy your widget on Netvibes, iGoogle, iPhone, MAX OSX, Vista, etc.
- AboveandBeyond, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1Fastdial mofos...
- fedak, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1I really liked the old non-ajax MyYahoo better than the current ajax version.
- syst3m3ltdown, on 12/02/2008, -0/+0I think that http://www.symbaloo.com should be on there, that's my fav.

- dmartnyc, on 12/02/2008, -1/+0English doesn't seem to be the writer's first language, but it's a good overview. I'm glad to see Yahoo gets a mention. Yes, old and less than hip, but My Yahoo has made great strides in the past year.
- zombiecarlin, on 12/02/2008, -4/+1Buried for excluding the best and most popular: BBC
- sirjorge, on 12/01/2008, -7/+2not bad, not bad at all
