"Oooo it looks like you are googling for "Democracy" that's not allowed, why don't you search for this search instead! http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=MAO+QUOTES&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 " - Bricks, on 10/10/2007, -3/+37Those are the two most adorable flight attendants I've ever seen!
- jmsazboy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27So help me out here, we have a total absolute embargo on Cuba because of a "Tyranical regime" yet we are most favored nations with a regime that makes Cuba look like france?

- SlamShut, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21Yeah, that's gonna work.
- subterfuge, on 10/10/2007, -3/+23they arent bastards because they're communists, they're bastards because they're authoritarian.
- withears, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13That Jurassic Park 'Newman' pop-up is more threatening than this.
- manellis, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Yeah, that's great! Censorship is cool as long as it's against something you dislike! [/sarcasm] How about we let people make their own decisions, even if they are harmful to themselves. There was a story recently that the US smoking rate is at one of the lowest points in years, I think the methods already taken against smoking are accomplishing enough.
- 5urr3al5am, on 10/10/2007, -8/+19this is why I love the USA
- schoate09, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10I see what you did there.
- neokyotodragon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Well..look on the bright side...at least they get some of the internet...North Koreans don't get internet at all (except government officials).

- DeFex, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Chinese goods are made with lead.

- Frnnkdlxx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8"Cartoon police officers are to appear in "pop-up" warnings on the internet every half hour to warn Chinese users that they must steer clear of unapproved websites."
Or you DIE - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10There are so many insensitive, completely hilarious comments running through my head for that image. I better wait to comment further...
Can't...Stop...Laughing... - Lymojo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Do they also let you know when the Two Minute Hate is about to start?
- shadekeiko, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Ugh. That really sucks.
I remember my Thai friend told me that the Thai government blocked youtube for a while (I think it may have been shortly after the coup)...but then a few days ago unblocked it. Hmm... - Oronar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Cheap goods. Full of LEAD! :D Lead is yummy!
- Bamborzled, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6This is known commonly as an Association fallacy (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_fallacy ). Basically, the thought process:
1. A is a B (China is an authoritarian state)
2. A is also a C (China is also communist)
3. Therefore, All Cs are Bs (Therefore, communists are authoritarians)
This is, of course, false. If people and society were perfect, communism would be an excellent system; everyone shares the wealth and nobody is more powerful than others. Of course, this is great only on paper, because human nature is to take advantage of power and corrupt. In a communist society, the government gets all the power because it controls the wealth distribution. The government therefore can make itself rich beyond belief while starving its citizens. However, the citizens can rebel and end the communism (and the wealth to the government), so to avoid this the government turns the society into an authoritarian state, and makes the citizens fear the government enough to avoid a revolution.
// This coming from a Chinese-Canadian. - PopcornDave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5How long before these two are starring in their very own hentai? And will the Chinese government block it even if their star police are in it?
- ThinkBox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.
- GorfTron, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Who knew the thought police were so ***** cute!!
- mllawso, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5You there; stop thinking.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4FINE! I will.
- archimago42, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I would really like to know how many Chinese people actually don't realize what their government does. I mean lots of people don't question it but do they really not know? I find that hard to believe, although I guess lots of Americans don't even understand the basic rights they have so maybe it isn't that much of a stretch.
- Akiha_Tohno, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I think most Chinese know about the stuff their government does. The problem lies in the fact that many of them don't mind it while the others aren't stupid enough to start something when the government is on constant watch for that kind of stuff. When something is big enough and organised, then I guarantee that a lot of Chinese will stand up for themselves.
- hulez, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4The only way to be a bastard is to have unmarried parents. End of Discussion!
- Midnightbrewer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4They've been doing this for 5,000 years. Old habits are hard to break.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5actually, it does work. chinese people know whats up. It makes me even more grateful to live in america. these people know they face very sever consequences if they dont do as they are told. and you diggers think we dont have any rights. lol. move to china if america sucks so bad. see how good we have it
- bruenig, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Except that smokers don't die before they have offspring nor does it effect the number of offspring they have....
- subterfuge, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5yeah, you have to be a retard to smoke. smoking is one of the few remaining forms of natural selection.
- nationalist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3nuke em'?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5What was the point of that comment?
- Stormflux, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Or maybe we could stay here and fix America before it turns into a place like China...

- Ogopogo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Canada has the misnamed "Human Rights Tribunals" that can fine you up to $50K and ban you for life from posting commentary that expresses "hatred or contempt" for a long list of protected minorities. See: www.freedomsite.org
