- Teague, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18The reason the video looks nice has little to do with the camera, although that's bound to be part of it. Mostly, the video looks good because the guy who shot it knew what he was doing. Using ND filters where appropriate, keeping it on a stabilizing unit for most of the shots, knowing what he was going for ahead of time and editing it nicely.
There wasn't much color correction that I could detect, maybe a little bit, but mostly...the video looks awesome because of the cameraman, not the camera. Could have been done with pretty much any high end prosumer camcorder. - thescimitar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12The camera is an HVX-200. The video clip looks good because it was compressed well.
- JaytB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9What?? And I thought crop circles where made by giant spaceships...

here are some pictures - rnmrnmrnm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9and "wow!" an opera space circle ;)
http://www.lascension.com/images/cropdauphin.jpg - TylerLavite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6thanks for this Digg, this is great
- Teague, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Somehow I think they probably had permission to do this. Spending twenty hours in a field isn't something that can be usually done sneakily, particularly with what, twenty people tailgaiting, watching you?
- bysubmitted, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7The most amazing thing in the video...
THERE IS A GIRL WHO STAYED THROUGH THE WHOLE THING! :O - glaspole, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6What a fantasic video. I loved it. Great quality and streamed seamlessly. Puts the Jobs WWDC keynote to shame (I guess a 'few' less people were trying to see at the same time;) Still I really enjoyed this it's really well shot and produced.
- SectorX4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5There was a previous article that had photos from the air of the crop circle if you're interested.
On another note PLEASE make your story titles accurate, due to aforementioned story title someone who had seen the previous story may consider it a dupe and bury it and we all know how most people don't actually RTFA before commenting. - ojk007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Thats incredible. Thanky you
- coldfusioN52, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4OH MY GOD THERE'S A TYPO IN THE CREDITS. Somebody should call the Gestapo or something.
- epoch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Does anyone know which kind of camcorder was used to film that? Any ideas on a rough model?
- jacinto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4So is this crop circle all done? Is the there pics available anywhere?
- davdav, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5You can kind of see a picture of it at the end

Would a small 1080i camera achieve similar results? - SimonGray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My new wallpaper ;D

- davdav, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Nice sandals.
- Markus123, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yes I Think It's Cool To Type Like This Too.
That said... I do agree, however if they spent more time fixing memory leaks/other bugs and less time doing pointless things like this, it would be a good browser. - TylerLavite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it kindof lookt like an Xl1 its the same type i use at my school but i cant remember the brand
- davdav, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I have this same question.
- whisk3rs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Firefox, Opera...
Up next: Microsoft draws IE7 logos in the sky - betterth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Firefox IS a great browser. It may not match Opera in pure rendering speed (what does?) but Opera has nothing on the massive extension library available to Firefox. And well IE is ... IE, and I don't think anything else needs to be said about that.
- arpad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They did have permission. It was mentioned in an earlier digg. I think the field and crops belonged to the parents of one of the folks involved in doing the circle. Not sure about that but I do remember that permission was granted by the owners.
- HvitRavn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Funniest moment in the vid :)
- bradk50, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wait are you saying the aliens didn't do it?
- thaaman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this shows the team work and love for what they do, And proves that open source can make people money without taking the fun out of what they do.
- diggmaddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would be so cool if google put this crop circle in google earth.
- whisk3rs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Also: geeks using power tools!
And where was Mel Gibson? - vgeogy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very interesting topic
- nicmakaveli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0awsome, are we ever gonna see that on TV? hahaha.
Alien technology. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Now all that's left is to put a bunch of blue and orange/redish lights on it so we can see it from space at night ;).
- Pile, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2How ironic that the video they have on their site was Quicktime, and didn't render properly in Firefox. The least they could have done was post a non-proprietary video format. Sheesh!
- inactive, on 03/18/2009, -0/+0Firefox Crop Circle is the best browser in the world ............... i use it very happyly
http://www.viddler.com/explore/abcircle - thechadnz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Where's the Google Earth reference??? :o)

- marioluigi123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://lug.oregonstate.edu/albums/firefox-crop-circle/mg_5616.jpg
Wow...that's a high-quality picture. My Firefox scaled it to 27% and it still was apretty good size. - adimaska, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0amazing!
- kplayr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0A tripod could have helped them.... and where was that dude looking in the first interview? Wierd looking shot.
Overall, pretty well done. - TylerLavite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Firfox is a great browser.
- transpyre, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1typo in the credits - "speical thanks"; But very cool. What about the pancake?
- Burmask, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1I'd rather see them fix the browser, then waste time with crop circles.....no digg.
- thescimitar, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2*edit: dupe, sorry
- hutchy, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1nice idea. but it could have easily backfired against firefox, as it gives the impression that mozilla support tresspassing and destroying people crops, which in turn damages their livelyhood

What is Digg?
