Behind the scenes: Firefox Crop Circle

firefoxflicks.com — Mozilla just released a behind the scenes video of how the firefox crop circle was put together. It's worth checking out if you are interested in the project or just want to know how crop circles are made!

      Would a small 1080i camera achieve similar results?
    • Teague, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18The reason the video looks nice has little to do with the camera, although that's bound to be part of it. Mostly, the video looks good because the guy who shot it knew what he was doing. Using ND filters where appropriate, keeping it on a stabilizing unit for most of the shots, knowing what he was going for ahead of time and editing it nicely.

      There wasn't much color correction that I could detect, maybe a little bit, but mostly...the video looks awesome because of the cameraman, not the camera. Could have been done with pretty much any high end prosumer camcorder.

    On another note PLEASE make your story titles accurate, due to aforementioned story title someone who had seen the previous story may consider it a dupe and bury it and we all know how most people don't actually RTFA before commenting.

      That said... I do agree, however if they spent more time fixing memory leaks/other bugs and less time doing pointless things like this, it would be a good browser.
    • betterth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Firefox IS a great browser. It may not match Opera in pure rendering speed (what does?) but Opera has nothing on the massive extension library available to Firefox. And well IE is ... IE, and I don't think anything else needs to be said about that.

    • arpad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They did have permission. It was mentioned in an earlier digg. I think the field and crops belonged to the parents of one of the folks involved in doing the circle. Not sure about that but I do remember that permission was granted by the owners.

    Wow...that's a high-quality picture. My Firefox scaled it to 27% and it still was apretty good size.
