- jurvusbob, on 10/10/2007, -1/+48that looks pretty cool - too bad it only works for music you've purchased off the itunes store
- mablco, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27no recently played tracks? sad.
- HydraulicToast, on 10/10/2007, -5/+29i prefer last.fm, but i have a feeling that more people will use this just because its itunes....
- Napalmtrees, on 10/10/2007, -6/+24Thats it? Weak.
- slugicide, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Pretty lame compared to Last.fm
- hagis, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Hay read the article.. this is iTunes, so it works on Windblows also.
- colincornaby, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Yep, they need recently played tracks to make this worth my while...
- petewhite, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I'm not sure if I want everyone seeing on my blog what I'm buying especially if my gf has been using the computer...
How long until we see this in a Facebook application? - RagnerD, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5You'd think Apple would do better. Doesn't even come close the competition. Last.fm - http://last.fm Soundcrank - http://soundcrank.com Mog.com - http://mog.com
- apersaud, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3You can currently add this to your facebook page by adding the 'myspace' facebook application (no relation to MySpace) and just paste the code in the box.
- AshevilleRaised, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Welcome to the social.
Sound familiar? - mononexo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hey guys, I made one last night while I was on RA duty to allow people to paste their Widget code into a spot and have the widget appear on their profile. Check it out here: http://udayton.facebook.com/apps/application.php?api_key=764b53e52e0cf175a30b2ba5317397a5
Matt - jackmaht, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I prefer Last.Fm wayyy better.
- SuperChicken, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4Of course it requires flash..so screw the iPhone users
From the site:
Coming to a Web page near you
My iTunes widgets can be embedded on any Flash-enabled website, including most blogs and social-networking profiles. - apersaud, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Sorry, its called 'My Space' by Wayne Chang.
- CrankyMcGuy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm a big iTunes user and purchaser and I am underwhelmed by this offering. I have more power using Coversutra and iTunes linking to last.fm. Last.fm offers more detailed charts, info, etc. and it's not limited to my purchased tracks. I'll check it out, but if all it does is tell the world what I bought from iTunes in a fancy flash anim without letting people preview the tracks, or better yet give me kickbacks for referrals, then I don't see the point of it.
- The_Ox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1How come Apple doesn't give me some sort of commission for people I refer through this widget ?
- Swampthing, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1DIRECT link to the widgets: http://www.apple.com/itunes/myitunes/ so you don't have to waste time on the Blog...
- Dustmuffins, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's nice, but it's not going to get me away from my winamp/lastfm combo.
- Vinjii, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Exactly.
- valleyvideo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1There is one option on the widget for tunes you rated -- and I don't think that's restricted to purchases, is it?
- rdoger6424, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If I didn't think exactly the same thing when I first saw it, I would be mocking you now.
- dimplemonkey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Nice first effort but the widget keeps displaying the same music for the past three days! Welcome to the social, Apple.
- Funkygrrlz21, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1last fm pwns everything else...although most people aren't aware of it yet
- madskjaer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Jesus... This again shows how much apple really doesn't get the web. Looks like you can make your own widgets with the feed, though, but seriously, you gotta have recently played / most played widgets. Also, why not allow us to customize our widgets more as to color and size? Go try last.fm or some of the other similar sites out there, people. I'm deeply dissappointed.
- bpapa, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1For the most part I'm happy right now using last.fm - although I admit all I use it for is for their Facebook Application.
- godzillaWax, on 10/10/2007, -9/+9Please tag all Apple garbage as 'Apple' so those of us adverse to the constant fanboy barrage can have it filtered out. Thank you.
- debhdebh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I can't get that to work. I pasted the code in the box, but on my profile it just says 'No content to display' in the My Space app. According to the app, you have to use Facebook Code (FBML).
Am I missing something? - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1More bloat, woot!
- mentor972, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1nevermind. Only shows your most played PURCHASED music. LAME.
- ffleming, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1The next time I feel compelled to pay money for low-quality, DRMed songs that don't even come with neat packaging, I'll be sure to take this into account.
- vanarsdale, on 10/10/2007, -5/+4Typical apple, releasing visual pleasing products with major features missing. (Fixed)
- NielsVynckier, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Old news and indeed not good enough.
Maybe some hacks will come to use it not only for music you buy from the iTunes store. - ramshaw, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3agreed
- inobla, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1BURRIED for not listing this article the Crapple category so my Digg news filter can block the spam.
- Crynos, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Why did this even get digged? It doesn't even come close to comparing to the other services out there.
- wh0r4cl3, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3Why not provide support from flac and shn files first?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -23/+17Typical apple, releasing a half assed product with major features missing.
- GonadHunter, on 10/10/2007, -11/+4Thats your comment? Weaker.
- Ramble, on 10/10/2007, -18/+4And no one will use it because it's OS X only.
