thomashawk.com — With less than 24 hours behind Flickr's announcement yesterday of adding video to their service, the early sentiment from existing Flickr users appears to be largely negative.

I joined Flickr because of it's dedication to photography and photographers, and I want Flickr to remain true to this dedication. I paid my pro account so that I could share more photographs with my fellow photographers, and to have that go towards further development to enhance the photo sharing aspect of Flickr.
I am not against Yahoo/Flickr pursuing a video sharing option, it is my belief that this could have been, and should be, done as a separate sister site to Flickr. - officialben, on 04/09/2008, -1/+3video on flickr is the beginning of the end

I'm not against what they've done, because I like the more laid-back style as opposed to youtube where there's more pressure and stuff, what with the angry audience. The 90-second clip thing is interesting, I'd like to see what people do with this. As for me, I'll probably just upload retarded clips of friends that people say is ruining the internets.
