Amazon’s Price Drop Policy
bargaineering.com — "Did you know that if the price on something you buy drops, within 30 days of your purchase date, Amazon.com will credit you the difference if you ask for it? It ’s a not-advertised price drop policy that most people don’t know about and it’s saved me tons of money over the last few years." Hope many of you find this awesome.

- Nougat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0All B&M stores have a "price adjustment" policy, too, and they don't shout it from the mountaintops, either. Good to see that Amazon abides by the same rules. What I really wonder is how many online retailers *don't* do price adjustments.
- Fantt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Does B&M == B&N? Not sure what B&M is. I'm probably just being dense though...
- lego, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1B&M = brick and mortar.
- monolith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Actually I think Amazon keeps this as quiet as they can and still adhere to the policy.
- nene7070, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0all brick and motar? i dont think all do... though i dont have an example of one that doesnt have such a policy, so i could be wrong.
- byoung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thanks for that, thats real handy didn't even know about that. Anyone think its a bit weird they even do it on coupons though? Guess if it gets too advertised they would be a bit tougher on it.
- angelwspr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0if only i knew about this before...
- crapiolio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why do they have it if they don't want people to know about it?
- Arkitan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good to know, thanks for the info.
- floejoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0People DO want to know about it and WOULD use it.
The only brick and mortar store I know that will not do "price matching" is Target. Whats good about that is that it keeps all the compulsive price adjusters that shop at Wal-mart out of the store. - floejoe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7In Soviet Russia, price drops you!
- VenDrake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Saved $200 on a price drop policy once. Had my $500 wedding ring on a payment plan. The price dropped to $300 while I was making payments. The store honored the price drop.
- dslknight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You just saved me $.60! Thanks!
- mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dug it. Everyone needs to know this if they already don't.
- RinzeWind, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What about Amazon.co.uk? Do they also honor price drops?
- frooyo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0More pricing droping on the web hosting from from DreamHost

- vitriolage, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"What about Amazon.co.uk? Do they also honor price drops?"
No, they honour them. - c0dek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0they all have them because a long long long time ago, one of their competitors started doing it, so they do it so that they remain competitive - if I know store X has a price match policy, and I'm in store Y, I'm more likely than not to buy the item there, all things being equal.

- Osiriscky3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0woot
- emilng, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Jet Blue has the same policy too.
- JTMON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There are some credit card companies that offer this service regardless of the store.
- compu73rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Why do they have it if they don't want people to know about it?"
Becuase then they'd lose more money. They only want to honor it for those who took the time to find out and know about it. - nukethewhales, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It would be cool if they had a "special edition adjustment" policy where if a special edition for a dvd you just bought is announced 30 days later they let you return it for credit on the special edition.
- smaisch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thank you very much! I just submitted a request for $10 savings on Call of Duty 2: Collector's Edition! I'll let you know how it goes!

I should receive an ~ $110.00 refund on a Yard Machine snow blower that dropped all the way to 50% off from when I placed my order on Jan 1st.
One thing though, I could not find where it specifically states that this is their policy. - kenics, on 06/05/2008, -0/+0I just received a $207.16 refund for an LCD tv that I purchased!!
- crossers, on 07/16/2008, -0/+0 yes Nougat you sure! all B&M stores have a "price adjustment" policy, and they don't shout it from the mountaintops, either.
