- essjay, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4You're kidding me. The new interface is sooo much easier to use, the old one was horrible with confused terminology, unclear links and overly complicated graphs. Now, you get all the same information but it makes sense. The new interface is a huge leap forward.
- Roger, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Why doesn't Analytics use Google Maps for the mapping parts?
- TrainingName, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Point 'n Click baby.
- guitarromantic, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Analytics is wonderful except for one thing: still doesn't beat Analog et al for their referall sections. The best I get is stuff like site.com/forum/showthread.php - eg, minus all the important attributes.
- spyrochaete, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Yeah, I love Analytics but it's incredibly frustrating that it doesn't retain the querystring.
- apachehtaccess, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1Yay #1000!
http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/apache/htaccess/~3/ ... - glenfiddich, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1most of the examples in that post are achieved using filters instead of modifying your page code ;)
Also, if you want to track all outbound links, consider using a modified version of this wordpress plugin: http://cavemonkey50.com/code/google-analyticator/
And if you want to track full referrals, the trick is to store the full Referral URL into the UserDefined variable by using a filter ;) - cellphoneguider, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Does i need pay for Google Analytics if i use it?
- babooo404, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1great writeup!
- kingkool68, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2What happened to DuggMirror?

You just set up tracking code on each page/link/jsaction and then google gets all the data. Is it really that much more complicated?
- 10001110101, on 10/11/2007, -6/+6Frick.. I've been waiting and waiting to get my hands on the Legion of Doom's sistem. How'd you swing it?
- djg38, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1If you don't like digging through 17 levels of depth and reports delayed random numbers of hours, try out http://www.w3counter.com . All the stats the average website/blog could want, with a much simpler interface, and all in real-time.
- ishkur88, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1wow.... thats a pretty nice little script
- tim507, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1If you want a neat little tutorial on the old system, especially for all the loyal users. check out this tutorial: http://www.revitalizingpixels.com/resources/v3/googleanalytics.html
- Szyslak, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0nice post, have you found any problems with the new interface that are directly related to the way the old interface used to perform.
- wildfire, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1I cooked up a Javascript to help you out since there doesn't seem to be an option in the analytics settings.
http://www.wildfiretech.com/downloads/google_analytics.zip
Edit the file and replace GOOGLE_ANALYTICS_ID with your site's ID found in the Google Analytics Control panel.
Then you can just bookmark the Javascript after pasting it into the address bar. (You have to be logged in first to use the script) - balibones, on 10/11/2007, -10/+8I realllllllly don't like the new system. But part of that is I'm just used to the old one. This blog entry does help me get past that a bit.
- Wildren, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Site down. GG =( Anyone got a mirror?
- steppingrazor, on 10/11/2007, -6/+3How the hell do you get GA to default to one week instead of the default month????

Well done tutorial, by the way.
