- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12You could already add Closed Captioning to Google Videos that you Upload.
- interiot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8It was mentioned in a recent TWiT (or was it another podcast?), but Kevin Rose said that porn is explicitely against Digg's terms of use ( http://digg.com/tos ), and that they do have a single person on staff at all times (one in the netherlands, one in the US) to catch anything that appears on the front page. However, he noted that Digg users can bury stories themselves, and that usually Digg users will succeed in burying a story before the staff does. (he also mentioned that porn is (maybe obviously) the most frequent TOS-issue that shows up on the front page. And that porn does often stick around until it hits the front page, which is unavoidable since they only have one guy at a time)
- raabco, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9xarc13, you should digg more and talk less.
On second though, just talk less. - sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7This is just going to degenerate into the douchefest that now exists as youtube comments. At least those I can ignore, why would I go out of my way to see them in my videos?
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4cool service but I doubt i'll use it.
did anyone try their sample video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gg5LOd_Zus ... not that funny imo, but there it is.
@sockpuppets: they should let you upload your videos, then do this to them before putting them on youtube. that would be a better idea. it's a new idea though, they get credit for that. - yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1will be useful to putting english translation to japanimation.
- MCMLXXXIV, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2This one's been up for a few months now -> http://www.tubelicker.com
- nethelpers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1check out my bubble movie!
http://www.6initiative.com/my-first-bubble-movie-using-bubbleply/
They had some problems with the embedding, so I also wrote a very easy solution. - cuzican, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Since I have seen youtube and others say that downloading their content violates their terms of service, how does this 'bubbling' fit into that?
- shorhabar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Great idea. seems that there is more in it that the eye meets. waiting to see the future...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This is great for editing camera phone video's or other stuff on the go.
- MCMLXXXIV, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0The video is still hosted by YouTube or the respective video source. All this service does is create an xml list of times in the movie, location of the bubble, duration of the bubble, and in the instance direction and type of bubble as well. The link I posted above uses the magnolia bookmarking service to store and retrieve data about the youtube videos but Bubbleply looks like they have their own solution, most likely a normal sql database.
It's a mash-up. - mindsnare, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1The demo video impressed me more (the one from break.com natalie imbrugi... I ain't spelling that) That dude has gone far since I saw his earlier video
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5Plant?, Can't understand why there would be a REM plant on Digg but I call shenanigans!
- alexrapo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0It's about time....
- vbnz88, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0seems their site is suffering the digg effect now, really slow
reverse lookup reveals they're using this weird (seemingly israeli) host http://www.bezeqint.net/ - OpCzar, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2It's a good idea, wonder if youtube will follow along flicker's footsteps in this regard.
- ZackS, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Sorry to be off topic, but did anyone else see a story flash up about a naked chick in a bar, and the link led, basically, to porn? I went to digg it just for hilarity of making it to the front page with porn and Digg asked me to log in, then it was suddenly gone. I have the link so I know I wasn't imagining things, but what's the deal here?
- kindpastor, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2They probably stole the idea from some Palestinian startup (with the help of the British).
- bad.sector, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3awesome!
I played with it for the past 30 minutes. endless fun :) - squarehalo, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0.o0(hmmm...no digg)
- Philipp_Lenssen, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Slow but funny...
- teh1337d0t, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0Very amusing!
Might also be useful for those too lazy to edit videos to put bubbles/captions in - smoothmedia, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3VERY COOL! The possibilites for the deaf population are huge.
- missmatch, on 10/12/2007, -9/+0this one is so funny!
it takes a couple of minutes, but it is definitely worth the time & effort. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -19/+0This has nothing to do with the article but...
I just wanted to know how many people here are fan's of R.E.M.? I just started listening to them a few months ago and they are a great band. I'm 18 so I wasn't listening in their hayday.

What is Digg?
