- neko6, on 05/12/2008, -2/+4I see no sign in there... Though the article isn't very interesting.
- Spoomeister, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3This is bloody silly. If the inventor / technologist can't explain what the purpose of their widget is, they don't understand the science as fundamentally as they think they do. If a business can't find the technology they need or might be interested in, they need to hire smarter and/or more technically specialized people.
This arrangement is just asking for con men to step in as middle men. The answer is to work towards more well-rounded education all around, so that scientists write better and businessmen know some basic science. - antdude, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2BugMeNot or use http://nytimes.blogspace.com/genlink ...
- DCGaymer, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1Sadly, Planet Eureka, the only company listed in the article, has a tiered system that doesn’t offer a level playing field to smaller organizations.
"Enable VIP Access to Large Corporations, National Distributors & Retailers". Only after an invention has been listed for 30 day’s is it made available to everyone.
While it’s a great idea to offer inventors a customer friendly marketplace…giving the big guys first dibs is pretty lame. - Wardvark, on 05/12/2008, -5/+9Quit with the NYT articles, I will never digg anything I have to sign in to read.
- DCGaymer, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1I agree that there's a possibility ...ok eventuality .... of unscrupulous con men to stepping in....but face it....inventors are not always the best at explaining their concepts. I know I've had to overcome huge communication gaps to get incredibly intelligent programming and design people on the same page with everyone else. It's not that they don't want to work as a team....they usually just see so much further along that they grow frustrated and insular when not everyone appreciates or understands their vision or concept. It's amazing what you can get done when you facilitate communications and and reign in vision to usable chunks of information. I see where these guys are going....I just wish they we're doing it as a tiered access system.

- ShadOJack, on 05/12/2008, -1/+0IDEaBay nigerian scammers with flock to the inventors, provided they send the account number, name, and social security to an offshore bank.
- Morality, on 05/12/2008, -2/+1Digg users are tools. You bring site traffic, therefore money, to bloggers who fabricate information or promote lolcat pictures. Nothing more.
Does this have to do with the article? ***** no.
