- davester, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Hope you all enjoy this post. If you have a community mapping site that I should know about, add it through Digg comments. If there is enough interest, I'll write an expanded list. Thanks!

The beta site just launched this week. What's really cool is how members can add places on their maps like this one here:
http://www.epictrip.com/socialize/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=userProfile&user=127&index=Profile - knuxed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0u could also check out malsingmaps.com and malsingmaps.net.The purpose of those projects is to produce free routable Garmin and Smartcom maps for Malaysia and Singapore
- schmel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very informative. I'm betting in the next year or so these types of sites will see explosive growth. It's all about connecting with people/places on the net, learning something, then taking it to the social level, i.e. tangible reality, armed with that information.
- davester, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Thank you for the comments Tomboyz - this write-up really came from all the work we did on Rrove. After all the discussions (e.g. arguments) Atomu and I had, this post was pretty easy to write. Haha!
I'll check out world66.com! - Aque0us, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Spiggity Spam
This links to the blog of one of these community mapping websites. - lassel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I don't know if this one qualifies.
It is a community mapping site for a MUD (Carrion Fields)

At any rate I thought it was a cool alternative way to use a wiki when I made it. - cpmoser, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Hi Dave,
I've recently released Wayki (the World As You Know It) at http://www.wayki.com - wouldn't mind being added to that list :) - gregorr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0davester,
Check out http://triptracker.net
I think it should also be on your list. - anguskao, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2very insightful, good to see web2.0 mapping sites are growing to be more and more useful.
- tomboyz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0David, good writeup. I am also in this field and developing a mapping service. I used tagzania before and agree with your observations. I would suggest you write up something for the overall geo-tagging applications someday, seems you are quite insightful in this area. Check out world66.com.
Btw, I checked out your rrove.com. Man, you should give yourself credits for developing such an impressive website. I understand why you do not include Rrove in the list, though. - ejoech, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I would suggest you check out...
