- brianbb98, on 10/10/2007, -0/+47people should have to take a test to get online..
- AllenS, on 10/10/2007, -2/+39you mean she was lying when she wrote me that email saying she was horney as hell and asking me for money so that she could fly over to my city and experience my "throbbing *****?"
- garbs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+37But why would a Nigerian prince lie?
- Zarokima, on 10/10/2007, -0/+35FTA: "you have a 1 in 4 chance of becoming a 'cybervictim.'"
There's a 25% chance that I will have a sudden lapse of brain function and accept the next amazing offer I get for $21 billion from a doctor in Africa and HOT HOT HOT GIRLS ON GIRLS. - davidjunit, on 10/10/2007, -5/+38YOU'RE MOM!

you'll still love me, right? - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -10/+39Isn't that the same percentage of people who voted for Boosch?
- mpn401, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2628% of Americans know how to use the apostrophe properly.
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25"the only statistics you can trust are those you falsified yourself"
Winston Churchill - ramong, on 10/10/2007, -5/+29I think more money should be put in awareness and education rather than weapons.
- trghpy, on 10/10/2007, -4/+21Nu-huh!
53.8% of all statistics are made up! - mtrip, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17A fool and his money are soon parted.
- sparrowkc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18And they all deserve it. Electronic Darwinism.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16if this is true I think I will cry myself to sleep.
- Eshestun, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15But why would Spam do this to me?
I've been faithful to that recipe of chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat, salt, water, sugar, and sodium nitrite my entire life! - arunforce, on 10/10/2007, -6/+19I have a feeling that it's the same 58% of Americans who 'would vote' or 'voted' for Bush.
- bromac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Brought to you by the Department of Redundancy Department.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13This must not include blog spam, since the site this submission would qualify.
- ICSU, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14This joke is made 99% times an article about statistics is posted.
- jtbandes, on 10/10/2007, -3/+16It's not $7 billion dollars. It's $7 billion or 7 billion dollars.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12You just have to know what to believe. Excuse me while I wait for my replica rolex.

0% of digg users get fooled by spam - Daedalus17, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Digg would be about 1/4 the size it is now. Actually that sounds kinda nice.
- bromac, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16So what your saying is the current administration really is representing the populace?
- felman87, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11These bastards are the ones responsible for all the spam I'm getting!
- Cirrius, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Did the submitter even read the article before writing the headline?
"Ars Technica quotes a recent study by Microsoft that found that 58% of American consumers didn't even know "online threats" existed."
There is a world of difference between knowing spam is garbage, and knowing that by clicking a spam link you can expose your system to malicious websites. A lot of people know that spam is worthless crap without knowing what it's exactly trying to accomplish.
Buried for misleading title. - jtbandes, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10I came here to say that. Way to crush a man's dreams. :(
- Kurisuku, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Just like the driving test? Why are there so many retarded drivers?
Oh yeah, because they memorize the answers and then forget them as soon as they get their license.
It would be the same with an Internet license, I'm afraid. :| I wish it was possible, though! I'm definitely in agreement that there should be 'requirements' based on your knowledge... - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11This number certainly includes plenty of folk who don't know how to make something plural.
"'s" makes something POSSESSIVE, duh.
Why did the poster put "American's" but not "scam's"? - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10I just thought the same thing. Given that at least 80% of Americans are insufferable *****, and than 90% of them are unaware that they aren't 'the world', I imagine it's more like 75%.
- Celeron, on 10/10/2007, -8/+15You mean George "Wanker" Bush?
- Virak, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8"A witty saying proves nothing." ~ Voltaire
- avisotin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Problem is, stupid people are in the majority, and majority trumps reason.
- neckfire, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8And people wonder why I'm a misanthrope.
- djrisc, on 10/10/2007, -9/+15w@1t a m1nUt3, y0u mean my p3n1s enlar6ing p1!!s ar3 f@k3?

Boring. - derwarnochfrei, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Yeah, but it won't stop them replicating! - most of the time, thats the problem!
- sv650touring, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5beause he forgot the "t1ny d1kk?, v1@gr@, Ci@L1s"
- nnnet, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8so you are saying 42% of American are intelligent? Really?

- mrfunktastic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6People were gullible before the Internet.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Somehow, I read the title as "58% of Americans Lack Common Sense". I do, of course, have the common sense to not fall for any scams and I never will.
- ramaz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4The reason spam should be an issue to you is that all of us who pay taxes and who pay for internet access are the ones giving the spammers a free ride. They are choking OUR internet with their crap and it costs all of us.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+658% of Americans are fools, said.
- maexus, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Spam has never been a real issue for me. Gmail takes care of most of it. I never get telemarketing calls and almost never get junk mail.
