That's why he hits me. - rowjimmy, on 10/15/2008, -14/+66No firebug? best extension (for developers) ever
- m0zzie, on 10/17/2008, -2/+43i'm going to get dugg down for this obviously, but here goes:
while i love hearing about cool extensions for Firefox, especially some that i've found to be extremely useful.. seriously guys, how many times do we need the same ones (not every time, but a vast majority are repeats) on the front page, over and over?

http://digg.com/search?s=firefox+addons&submit=Sea ... - BlueStreak69, on 10/17/2008, -1/+35These Top Firefox Addons lists keep appearing on Digg like every single month.
- Vusys, on 10/15/2008, -8/+26You said it yourself. Firebug is for developers, not power users.
- polarbobbear, on 10/17/2008, -3/+19Ad Block Plus.
- akuma, on 10/17/2008, -0/+12I don't know about anyone else but I'm looking forward to the top 25 lamest Firefox extensions. It would at least be original.
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -0/+12Right, that's why the Web Developer Toolbar is on the list.
- GarrettGrimsley, on 10/17/2008, -0/+12I'd venture to say the real reason is because you touch yourself at night.
- s0m31john, on 10/17/2008, -3/+14Nightly Tester Tools addon
Problem solved - rowjimmy, on 10/15/2008, -2/+12even for power-users, i would think that firebug would enable them to figure out if something was f'd up on a site, or how to access specific content outside of the ajax-framework of a site, etc. i guess i think too much like a developer :)
- Catchpen, on 10/17/2008, -1/+10Hello Foxmarks?
- ScottoGato, on 10/17/2008, -2/+10You're lucky... :(
My dad is George Lucas. - Arxilca, on 10/17/2008, -0/+8Not sure why they think you'd need both IE Tab and IE View. Just use IE Tab, and if it needs its own window you can always choose "Open In Ext.App."
- diggdiggerid, on 10/17/2008, -0/+7essential....addons? Isn't that an oxymoron?
- actionscripted, on 10/17/2008, -4/+11Didn't read your comment, but I think it was useful.
- AnthonyFTMFW, on 10/17/2008, -1/+7NoScript is annoying. AdBlock Plus does the job just fine. I don't need a Vista UAC variant on my web browser.
- bentrinh, on 10/17/2008, -0/+5@obxjdt
Maybe YOU don't need 4GB of RAM, but I'm pretty sure gamers, photo/video editors, and pretty much everyone that use their computer for more than web browsing and MS Word would see a performance boost....
Also where in the world are you going to get 2 1.5GB sticks of RAM? ;) Can't run all of them in dual channel without matching pairs. - obxjdt, on 10/17/2008, -0/+5NoScript handles most things, but I still recommend AdBlock.
- Doomsan, on 10/17/2008, -2/+7I want "How'd I Get Here" back, that extension was helpful!!
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -2/+7No script is ***** annoying.
- xamox, on 10/17/2008, -0/+4+---------------------------------------------------------+
* Ad Block Plus
* Ubiquity
* Google Redesigned
* Remember the Milk for Gmail
* Fuller Screen
+---------------------------------------------------------+ - obxjdt, on 10/17/2008, -0/+4Never used it, but I can see it's potential.
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -2/+6Can't believe I've never heard of that before! I'll let you make sweet love to my cornhole for that one.
- LowFuel, on 10/17/2008, -1/+5Why would ridiculous coin that term?
- insertAliasHere, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3You could just middle click the search button. Or if you're using the keyboard, Alt+Enter.
- Aeneous, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3Not as bad as the "Best Photoshop Tutorials" lists though.
- TheObviousChild, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3Your ass must be on fire!
- jerrycan, on 10/17/2008, -1/+3interesting. Of those 25 I only use adblock plus. But my personal favourites are Flashblock and Download helper. And stealther? It's a paper bag. FF needs that built-in for obvious reasons.
- unconfirmed, on 10/29/2008, -0/+2Done!

Hope I'm not the only one who comes back for this comment : | - Napiertt, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2It's all up to personal choice. If Opera works better for you, then great. Others would have different priorities and would use Firefox, or Safari or whatever. It's all about choice.
- rizon, on 10/29/2008, -0/+2I did, heh.
- cosmicr, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2not to mention most workplaces use internet explorer.
- elmetald00d, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2really. another opera user saying opera is the best ever
- slythfox, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2These lists are always missing SearchLoad, too. I hate that my searches don't open in a new tab without an extension.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/354 ... - Parasiteartist, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2Naturally curious - I checked out your list and ended up adding 4/5... Awesome and very helpful. (Did not add, Ad Block Plus)
- acero47, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2Works for me in FF 3.1 b1. Maybe another extension is screwing yours up.
- TheVirus, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2Stopped working for Digg since they 'upgraded'. I get no top 10 and no nested comments.
- ElBeh, on 10/17/2008, -3/+5Nice list, but only a few of them I would count as "essential"
- Charklii, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2Oh c'mon! Ever heard the saying "Less is more" ? That's so often true. I have 5 extensions and a few userchrome hacks and that's all I need. Sure, people more involved in web development are going to want a few extensions to cater for that, and not everyone will want exactly what I'm after (but that's the beauty of firefox). My point is, though, claiming 25, 20, 5 or even 1 extension to be "essential" for a "power" user is missing the point. Power is not about having gadgets all over the place, but having an efficient workspace which caters to the individuals needs/purposes. /Rant over.
- davengineer, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2couldn't agree more, it's great for switching between laptop and desktop
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -1/+3Buried for lack of RickDar: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/779 ...
- Namelkoom, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2Sage really? It's UI is too much when you want to be able to digest a lot of sites quickly. The best RSS add-on for Firefox is Feed Sidebar. It gives you excerpt view, clear grouping by site, search, and time sensitivity.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/486 ... - inactive, on 10/17/2008, -1/+3Well give yourself a cookie. Now there's nothing Firefox can't do that Opera can. Except be completely irrelevant, that is.
- Napiertt, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2I use All-in_One gestures myself. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/12
It's perfect - actionscripted, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2To impersonate absurd?
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1"sage" seems like a fairly poor choice of names.
- Spyder810, on 10/18/2008, -0/+1That happened to me when i added all the subscriptions on a reinstall, one of the lists are bad. I use easylist now only and it works fine.
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -1/+2Only if you have a ***** computer. Hee hee hee, 4 gigs of RAM ftw :D
- insertAliasHere, on 10/18/2008, -0/+1You don't have to do that either...when you enter the field it auto-selects all the text, so just start typing.
