- BxBoy, on 04/19/2009, -1/+55For those of you on dial up:
Sorry! - tupperwareman, on 04/18/2009, -2/+47Extremely useful. Especially the 'kickyoutube' one.
- aTroll, on 04/19/2009, -1/+38For those of you on dial up:
10.) View high quality videos- append ‘&fmt=18′(stereo, 480 x 270 resolution) or ‘&fmt=22′(stereo, 1280 x 720 resolution)
9.) Embed Higher Quality Videos- append “&ap=%2526fmt%3D18″ and “&ap=%2526fmt%3D22″ to the embed url.
8.) Link to the interesting part of the video (time code)- add #t=03m22s (#t=XXmYYs for XX mins and YY seconds) to the end of the URL.
7.) Hide the search box (in embbeded video)- add ‘&showsearch=0′ to the embed url.
6.) Embed only a part of Video- Append ‘&start=x′ to skip first x secs of the video
5.) Autoplay an embedded video- add ‘&autoplay=1′ to the url part of the embed code
4.) Loop an embedded video- Append ‘&loop=1′
3.) Disable Related Videos- add ‘&rel=0′ to the end of the url part of the embed code
2.) Bypass Youtube Regional Filtering- Change the url from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=%3Csomecode%3E to http://www.youtube.com/v/%3Csomecode%3E
1.) Download Video - change youtube to kickyoutube in the url of the video and it will take you to kickyoutube.com with all the options for downloading the video you were watching. - ArvinJA, on 04/18/2009, -1/+36When you embed, use & instead of "&", otherwise it will not validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict...
- Danls92, on 04/18/2009, -0/+35adding "pwn" in front of youtube on the url also works
- asdff4, on 04/19/2009, -0/+34I happen to like this song so HAH! jokes on you!
- greenlight2001, on 04/19/2009, -0/+34Sorry to hear about your recent virus infection on your computer.
- jason221, on 04/19/2009, -0/+29Dial-up users generally don't visit YouTube much.

- cornernoize, on 04/18/2009, -0/+26I didn't think this worked anymore?
Doesn't work when embedding is disabled at least. Still can't watch any Universal Music Group videos in the UK using that trick - wtakerm, on 04/18/2009, -4/+27Very useful, thanks.
- doom777, on 04/19/2009, -0/+20why would dial up users care about 10)?
- sandipc, on 04/19/2009, -0/+19A++++++++++ GREAT EBAYER
- deviantsteve, on 04/19/2009, -1/+20Thats still not a good excuse to download that crap.

Done and done - Tddupre, on 04/18/2009, -3/+21&flip=1
- Muldoon, on 04/19/2009, -0/+18&fmt=18 should actually be used here, &fmt=22 is for HD. Here's a higher quality vid, cheers!

- TehProphet, on 04/19/2009, -0/+14Why doesn't youtube just incorporate these tools into the site itself, so you don't have to know a bunch of "URL tricks" just to make the video do things that it is obviously already designed to be capable of.
- IFEice, on 04/19/2009, -0/+12Been RR'ed so many times, I've memorized the URL.
- doom777, on 04/19/2009, -0/+11i dont know what that it, but shouldn't it be http://, not html:// ?
- waluum, on 04/19/2009, -0/+10http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqj_8cSktGQ#t=05m33 ...
...cool, it works. - netneutrality, on 04/19/2009, -0/+10Nope. Tried it. I still get a "This video is not available in your country or domain" message.
- GeyserShitdick, on 04/19/2009, -0/+9I doubt the original was uploaded in HD...in fact, I doubt the master copy for the video is in HD.
- Muldoon, on 04/19/2009, -0/+9Well played, sir.
- DotGet, on 04/19/2009, -0/+9I just watched "Never gonna give you up" 3 times. Thanks guys. Now I won't be able to sleep.
- mackan90, on 04/18/2009, -0/+9works when embedding.
- themastersb, on 04/19/2009, -1/+10I wish there were a setting or some way to make it always automatically load the highest quality of the video instead of having to enter in "&fmt=22" all the time.
- netneutrality, on 04/19/2009, -0/+9A couple of things I wish YouTube would add on a little button or menu somewhere:
- Aspect ratio correction
- Gamma adjustment - deboerpa, on 04/18/2009, -0/+8You are probably using fmt=22 on a video that doesn't have a high quality version. The HD button was giving me stuttering video playback which fmt=22 fixed, not sure if this is still an issue or not.
- Virgule, on 04/19/2009, -0/+8&fmt=18 also happen to be an iPod compatible .mp4
- wondertwins, on 04/19/2009, -1/+9damn you....
- rushco1988, on 04/19/2009, -0/+7RHA0 = you can't trick me.
- soisoisoi, on 04/19/2009, -1/+8Just tried it, it worked for some random video :D
- pk7677, on 04/19/2009, -0/+7God damit its like the second time in 5 seconds.
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 04/19/2009, -0/+7You do know that there is a link in the menubar now that links to the TV Shows page, right? And that it's been there for a few days now?
- inactive, on 04/19/2009, -0/+7yay another way for web page owners to annoy people.
- LordSturm, on 04/19/2009, -2/+8Yeah, and watch them in the favicon.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0&fav ... - inactive, on 04/18/2009, -0/+6fmt=35 works good on select videos - it's not MPEG4 like 18 but it's very high quality. I know the epic stuff by Duane and Brand0 go 35 and possibly some random other stuff that doesn't come in HD.
- SimonLarsen, on 04/19/2009, -0/+6Why are you digging him down?
It's a great add-on. -
