  • ArizonaKid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Warren Buffett didn't give the money to Bill Gates, he provided to the Gates Foundation trust (legal meaning), that he is now a part of. Being a chartable trust, the money is donated and no longer a portion of the donator's wealth. The 30B is also donated over time with specific conditions, so it isn't as if it was all handed over at once.
