...I'd comment more, but my private jet is fueled and waiting for me. - spargo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I propose we rename it to raresense!
- jesusfresh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5that frog story was the worst thing ever.
- Bullsnot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Sounds like somebody got slapped with a restraining order recently?
- HP844182, on 10/12/2007, -0/+53. Ignore the naysayers
In a way that's true in that it shouldn't stop your from doing anything, but the world isn't all rainbows and sunshine and you sometimes need to listen to the people around you in order to avoid tunnel vision. If you're so focused on your goal that you don't look around you, you could have problems come in from the side that you didn't notice/care to pay attention to. - shortstick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It still doesn't sound really great to me.
How can they draw a line in the sand of LIBIDO and expect that everyone should become a moonlighting Shaolin monk?
Say you work with a hot chick and she gets in your space, then it could be fine with you, and none of this is illegal or immoral.
Or there's a guy who leans a little bit gay and he gets a whiff of your cologne and you both get a whiff of his LIBIDO. Then, you have your manager staring at the two of you, demanding, silently, "Where did this LIBIDO come from? Sell out your comrade and I will not fire the both of you!"
How about TOLERANCE, or HUMANITY, or the simple common sense fact that humanness is a greater thing than professionalism. The boss could ask, did the job get done? Or did the workplace collapse into orgy? The 2nd scenario will naturally never happen.
However hate and overcompetition, and repression and mental slavery seem like things which will and do naturally happen in the workplace. - MitchCumstein, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Example: George Bush
- mc7winkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3When ASKED how he made it in spite of the negative attitude of his fellow frogs, the survivor REPLIED that he was DEAF, and that he had thought the other frogs were cheering him on as he tried to get out of the well. Shows what a profound effect a positive outlook can have.
How can a deaf frog answer a question??? - ozdale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Got something from this even though I'm not a manager.
- cairo140, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well said, well said. I am lucky enough to be able to manage an exciting group of talented volunteers, and I still have a lot to learn. These tips are incredible and a must-read for all managers.
My favourite tip is this:
93. Dream big, think mountains, only then can you achieve at least molehill success.
In my experience, aiming high (pushing the so-called reasonable limit) is not only a firm and competitive start; it also motivates the team down the road and leads to extraordinary results.
Thank you to whoever dugg this! - Bullsnot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2sign language.
- mc7winkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2But frogs don't have fingers. EXPLAIN THAT!!
P.S. I don't think the frog was really deaf. He's just a liar. - jchrome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"84. Be prepared for change; nothing in this world is permanent, and a laidback, complacent attitude will just not cut it. Don’t fight change, go with the flow. "
"85. Control change, don’t let it control you."
So are we going with the flow, controlling the flow, controlling change or flowing change? Hold your tongue and try saying that out loud.
Not sure, but that crap-can of cliche's sure blew. BTW, you gotta love the name "Business Intelligence Lowdon". Sounds like a no-brainer. - Hungryhaney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Interesting to see MitchCumstein being dugg down, since our current president is a poster-child for not listening to anybody that disagrees with his view on things - even his own father.
Hence the mess(es - ?is that the plural, I think I never had to use it?) we are in. - n3il89, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3axel2k it is extremely sad when u have to block someone on digg but with u i make an exception
- sskkambad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was a great and helpful article. Thanks. Most have heard/read bits of such advice here and there but it's always a good to review and helpful in life even if you're not some manager or CEO. (I'm not)
- ShrimpCrackers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lip Reading. Lots of Deaf people do it.
Its just at the bottom of the well, the Deaf frog couldn't read their lips as well as up close. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1#7: “You see a pumpkin seed, but I see possibilities.”
Great advice, if you are an employee of Alternative Gourd Reproductions, LLC. Otherwise, not so much. - irvan132, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0mantap nih tulisan...
i am interest to read - myfanwy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1hmm, some useful stuff, lots of clichés.
No. 18 "they may be the most repeated clichés, but they do have more than a modicum of truth in them" yeah, they do, so why not put them across in a non-clichéd way? - Sacrifice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0102. Don't make lists with 101 tips. Most people will lose interest after about 10.
- shortstick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1And another thing.
If you are a couple of Christians and you accidentally whip up some LIBIDO during a meeting then you can always go to church and pray about it. Remember that the moral stormtroopers will descend on your management from the churches. "as long as it doesn't come back to me"
However if you aren't Christian then you have nobody to turn to and it won't be until you are broke and out of work due to your LIBIDO that you have to dial the 800 number on late nite TV for the Swaggarts and get your soul sold off at the low point to the low bidder, and this is bottom of the barrel type business. - captinherb, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5FTA "Richard Branson does it effectively from a hammock in the Necker Island, Warren Buffet has been doing it since he was 11"
Boy, I thought this was going somewhere else altogether... - bigred, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Ummmm.... what?
- squidreturns, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Ribbit. Ribbit.
- Moby22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0No kidding. I was scanning the list (101 items is too many to be called a list, frankly) and tuned out as soon as I saw the word "synergy." Too bad; I'm sure there were some good points.
