- Scotty87, on 03/19/2009, -2/+19Google Adsense program has been going downhill - randomly disabling accounts for uncontrollable reasons.
- pod6isblowedup, on 03/19/2009, -1/+12I've noticed a decline in the quality of ads on AdSense. They don't seem to be as relevant to the content on the page as they once were.
- deathmatch, on 03/19/2009, -0/+8Can't see your Ads, Adblock plus does a good job
- dwalker, on 03/19/2009, -2/+8HOW TO check the quality of a website in 2 seconds:
Is it covered in Googleads?
YES. Then 99% of the time its trash. - readacook, on 03/19/2009, -0/+5Works perfect until you get ***** out of your cash for some imaginary violation of their rules.
- str3ama, on 03/19/2009, -0/+5I'm surprised people are still interested in adsense considering their gross:
1) Customer Service which doesn't exist whether you having a technical problem or payment isn't arriving - you have to use their forum or try to contact them through their contact form.
2) Contextual Ads really? - a lot of times and on a lot of sites the ads aren't really all that great at matching the content. You'll still see ads for random products like automotive supplies being shown on a site about crackers or biscuits. It's not limited to just badly designed sites.
3) No Transparency - if you get banned, you're out. Very unlikely you're getting back in - because of #1 - no way to get in real contact with them.
4) Top Cutting - google takes an unlisted commission, because they don't list it - it means they can take however much they want in the future. with the recession - they're taking a bigger slice, advertisers are still paying say $5.00 but instead of getting a 75% commission say 2 years ago - you could be getting a measly 10% with the rest going to Google. Because they don't list the rate, there's no stopping how much they take.
5) Bait and Kick - new to adsense? maybe you spend 3 years to reach payout - and when you finally do, you get kicked out for fraud. It doesn't matter whether someone clicked your ads 500 times or whether they think your site may be a "threat to advertisers" - there's no customer service #1, no tranparency #3 and they still need to scrape more money - so goodbye earnings. Smaller publishers get the boot to make up for their own losses.
I was so over with adsense months ago, I refuse to use it. It may be the most popular ad system, but it surely isn't the best. - potsthedog, on 03/19/2009, -1/+4And they're IMPOSSIBLE to contact for problem resoution
- TheXboxReview, on 03/19/2009, -1/+4Advertising budgets are being cut.
- Photics, on 03/20/2009, -0/+2Bait and Kick... I'm beginning to wonder if there's going to be a class action lawsuit. Is Google all smoke and mirrors? After reading these comments, I'm beginning to wonder if Google has reached its peak and is heading for decline. Without AdSense/AdWords, what are they?
- slapded, on 03/19/2009, -1/+3not their fault you dont have a site that makes some good cash.
- Photics, on 03/20/2009, -0/+2Interesting, so it looks like this is happening to other people too? My AdSense account, after running Google ads on my site for years, was shut down. I appealed... they still kept my account shut down. The reply was basically... tough luck and don't write back... which didn't seem consistent with their "don't be evil" philosophy.
Afterwards, I decided that I shouldn't patrionize Google anymore. It was disturbing how integrated Google was into my life... my phone, my business, my web site, my documents.
As a result, I've done the following...
-- Removed Google Analytics tracking from my website
-- Removed Google Chrome from my computer
-- Updated my robots.txt file to block Google from Indexing my website
-- Removed the "Google Android" section from my blog
-- Google is no longer my default web browser search provider (I switched to Yahoo!)
It's too bad. I used to like Google. - pod6isblowedup, on 03/19/2009, -1/+2Exactly. My company has actually taken some Adsense off our site because the ads were getting very unprofessional. For example:

www.Single-Baltic-Lady.com - RumpleForeskin3, on 03/19/2009, -6/+7More like Google NoSense...
- NeoTechni, on 03/19/2009, -0/+1Only an advertiser would think something so stupid
- findhostcoupons, on 03/22/2009, -0/+1I see no differences between these tools and standard ones, just more detailed explaination for people who have never used AdSence before!
- gothicform, on 03/21/2009, -0/+1The best tip I can give anyone about Adsense is this - it's *****, leave it and go for affiliate programmes that are relevant to your site content. Place them well and forget Adsense ever existed as Google's profits were going up from it (not sure if they will this year) and everyone else was making increasingly less money. Nothing like being ripped off without even knowing how much you're being ripped off by.
- Hedison, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1I do it a little different but yes Adsense certainly works
- PinoyDigg, on 09/04/2009, -0/+1Cool info.
http://www.siampinoy.net - JTMON, on 03/19/2009, -2/+3PROTIP: Don't use it.
- jasoninoakland, on 03/20/2009, -0/+1Surprised they didn't mention Yield Build. It does all the AdSense color, size, layout picking for you. Have it running on my blog (which gets, um, *okay* traffic) and instead of a quarter a day, I earn about 50 cents. :-)
- ddrirc, on 03/19/2009, -3/+3Adsense used to be great, but now you can get much more money through sites like valueclick and tribalfusion (if you have lots of traffic)
- googlex, on 10/08/2009, -0/+0Adsense somehow still works. Though there may be an actual decline in the quality of ads. Thanks for the tips!!!
- amylela, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0i like it!!! dugg!
cheers,

I am currently working on a video powered, complete AdSense guide. I split it up into a sequential blog post:
http://www.duoblogger.com/complete-adsense-guide/ - sddk, on 03/20/2009, -1/+0may be the best tool is the pro website, for SEs and traffic and design too
you can see what many entrepreneurs are prefering ..

- oteque, on 03/19/2009, -6/+5thanks for the tips :)
- searcade, on 03/19/2009, -3/+1Digitalpoint is the best forum for webmasters!
- Bukowsky, on 03/19/2009, -5/+1Wordtracker is an awesome online tool, especially if you are targeting specific keywords.
- chasseur, on 03/19/2009, -4/+0Interesting
- cubicledrone, on 03/19/2009, -5/+0Adsense is one of the top five best things to ever happen to the web. We should be really appreciative of Google.
- searcade, on 03/19/2009, -6/+1Google adsense is *****, i earned 1000's from them in the past few years but now they decide i cannot show advertisements on my website, http://www.uploadline.com.
They choose to ignore websites same style as mine such as:
http://www.filedropper.com/
http://www.ziddu.com/
http://www.fileden.com/
http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/
http://www.enterupload.com/
which continue to display there adverts and possible earn 1000's daily...
After telling them this they tell me "Since we respect the confidentiality of all publishers, we are not able to disclose any additional details of our relationships with other sites." and ignore me... - BrandonModrov, on 03/19/2009, -6/+0Love Google Adsense!
- shrapnel09, on 03/19/2009, -8/+1I've moved on to Project Wonderful. You get paid per day to host somebody's ad. I like the model a lot better than AdSense. But, since Google AdSense only pays out when you reach $100, I'm waiting to reach that point.
Now get clicking: http://www.404techsupport.com (the skyscraper ad on the left)
:) - haentz, on 03/19/2009, -11/+1Got to love this iPhone app. Just what I needed...
