- socialtizer, on 05/16/2008, -0/+11I never realized it till I started reading this but you really don't hear anything about Canada in Space - just the US and Russia.
- jmpeagle, on 05/17/2008, -0/+2and more recently China...but that's because they are really the only ones with the capability to independently launch rockets into space with people in them. They are the only ones to do so as of today.
- jks139, on 05/16/2008, -0/+11Canadians are very proud of the Canadarm - the Shuttle Remote Manipulator System (SRMS).
Expect more body parts coming to a space station near you. - WiseWeasel, on 05/16/2008, -1/+9I'm going to guess it involves an orbiting Tim Hortons and several large tanks of poutine...
- bianconeri4ever, on 05/16/2008, -0/+12Never knew that the Canadians were this big in space!
- starfocus03, on 05/16/2008, -1/+6Very interesting information
- anchalsingh, on 05/16/2008, -1/+4it's really awesome ...
- DermDoc, on 05/16/2008, -0/+6"To confine our attention to terrestrial matters would be to limit the human spirit." -Steven Hawking. Holds true for Canadians as well.
- Bukowsky, on 05/16/2008, -0/+14Seriously? Canada has a space program?
- sluggysan, on 05/16/2008, -0/+6This appears better than Canada's air force program, consisting of really intimidatingly-colored kites and those little wooden airplanes that are powered by rubber bands
- MrBelding, on 05/16/2008, -0/+9Its funny, I actually have a good buddy who is finishing up graduate work at Stanford who is applying to become a Canadian astronaut. We just had this conversation the other day. He says their program is very small and mainly through US programs but each Canadian who makes it usually gets to travel into space, where as many US astronauts don't get to actually go.
- psogle, on 05/16/2008, -1/+5They got to space 3rd? That is amazing didn't they know there was no maple syrup on the moon?
- TedsGame, on 05/16/2008, -0/+5Ha ha. That is so funny how Americans tend to believe Canadians are so different. Why don't you guys take a trip up north, hang in Vancouver for a while. You'll see why Canadians prefer to stay grounded;)
- WiseWeasel, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2Canadians are OK, but the way their heads flop around when they talk freaks me out! That, and their beady little eyes...
- TedsGame, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1The heads don't flop as much as those trivial depictions. Especially when you duct tape the back of your head, works like a charm. I managed to pass as human several times before.
- WiseWeasel, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2Canadians are OK, but the way their heads flop around when they talk freaks me out! That, and their beady little eyes...
- andyboyd, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4I think the Canadians are doing just fine. In any case, I certainly don't see Ireland doing much in space! ;)
- arbiterofcool, on 05/17/2008, -0/+2Great Doc! :)
- BuzzDiggity, on 05/17/2008, -0/+4oh canada.. you are so silly
- anchorman, on 05/17/2008, -0/+2Next year Canada joins Poland in a new space endeavor. They plan to send a man to the Sun.
- gplpark92, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1that robot thing they built was a good start
