No thanks. - AKBryant54, on 10/12/2007, -10/+167The video is not anything important, it is of an interview about the story, there seems to be no tape of the actual sighting, just some people saw what they believed to be a UFO, just like the countless other times people claim to see things, such as bigfoot, el chupacabre, etc.
pics/video or it didn't happen. - bariswheel, on 10/12/2007, -13/+136 oh so fashionable to call out FAKE nowadays, even if an alien walked out from the spaceship in 1080i and said 'I am a ***** alien look at my webbed feet and my sketchy eyes, watch my spit melt concrete' it wouldn't matter one bit. Thanks to our 'pwned' teenage culture.

I disagree.
in 10000 years, humans went from uncivilized cavemen to landing on the moon, orbiting around space, and launching satellites that have exited the solar system. Within another 1% of that time we will have people on Mars.
The earth has been around for 5000000000 years. If another planet, somewhere, has developed a similar rate as Earth (plausible since the Universe has been around for a lot longer than Earth), and that planet been around for 50010000000 years, they might be a million years ahead of us in intelligence. Just think about how much we can do in a million, if we did so much in 10000.
It's unbelievable. - tikistyle, on 10/12/2007, -16/+82Pics AND it's fake.
- mtownand1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+57"To fly 7 million light years to O'Hare and then have to turn around and go home because your gate was occupied is simply unacceptable," said O'Hare controller and union official Craig Burzych.
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -3/+49"Its from the internet, its true."
Well then I really need your help with something. See I'm trying to move this large amount of money from my native country to America.... - gorndog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45One paragraph reads:
"The sighting occurred during daylight, about 4:30 p.m., just before sunset."
Then a later paragraph includes a statement by the FAA Spokewoman:
"That night was a perfect atmospheric condition in terms of low [cloud] ceiling and a lot of airport lights. When the lights shine up into the clouds, sometimes you can see funny things. That's our take on it." - aphexcoil, on 10/12/2007, -3/+35I'm not a conspiracy theory advocate, but I'll relate my own story handed down by my grandfather who was a radar operator during World War II. He once told me that they would occasionally get unidentified blips that would stand still and then suddenly travel at a velocity of mach 10 or faster. This would happen enough times and with enough radar operators that they eventually gave up reporting it because the "higher ups" would write it off as a system malfunction or human error.
It makes you wonder how many of these incidents are "glossed over" due to fear of being labeled a crack-pot.
They're out there -- and they're watching you right now. Hope you don't go to sleep alone tonight. Muhahahahaha!!!! - inactive, on 11/11/2007, -7/+37If it hovers over on of the world's busiest airports for several minutes, pictures must of been taken. Pictures please, or it didn't happen.
- Dested, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31While I am a firm believer in the fact that there is life out there on other planets, the sheer magnitude of there being life out there capable of intelligence (far beyond ours, mind you) being close enough to us to "visit" is.... unlikely imo. Probable vs. possible..
Believe me though, I would not mind being wrong. =) - scoot87, on 10/12/2007, -9/+35I bet even if they do have a video of it, someone is going to claim its fake. SO i really doubt a video would help.
- Hoovooloo, on 10/12/2007, -9/+35Speaking as one of those teenagers, I'd say that the alien 'pwned' the concrete.
- chrisemaj7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25The truth is out there. I want to believe. ;-)
- nuclearpotato31, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Dugg because this TOTALLY happened.
- LKBM, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Supurcell: Why do you think it's so bad that this generation was brought up to question everything?
Sounds like they're failing to question whether it's really fake.
As far as critical reasoning is concerned, automatically assuming something is false is no different from automatically assuming something is true. - bs0l, on 10/12/2007, -7/+25Its from the internet, its true.
- TheDiggMan, on 10/12/2007, -7/+24The video is pretty lame. I wanted to see some actual footage.
Sounds fake. - nitewing4205, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21"Did the ever think about the fact that if there are other life forms out there, that they may have began living long before the human race ever came out of caves?"
Statements like that are the reason the Geico cavemen get upset...I mean, do we have to come out of the caves? I, for one, am perfectly comfortable in mine. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18You'd think some place as dangerous as an airport would have camera's pointed at the skies to watch planes take off or some other stupid reason to waste our tax dollars on black and white surveillance cameras that still can't pick up audio or make out a clear picture of a person's face.
- ne0shell, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18I've heard two long interviews with some of the witnesses ranging from gate workers to pilots. Something like 20-30 people saw this thing and everyone willing to speak to the media gave matching descriptions. I can't say it was a saucer with aliens on it but I'm not buying the "low cloud illusion theory".
- DROB003, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Maybe they were trying to take Rex Grossman so the Bears could have a chance at winning in the NFL playoffs....
- Klarth, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Must have
- boberto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Considering just about everyone has a digicam or camera phone these days it is kind of hard to believe nobody snapped a picture in an event like this.
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I just used Firefox 2.0.0.1 to view the video -- no IE required. However, it DID open up Windows Media Player 11 to view the file.
- akira117, on 10/12/2007, -9/+21Jesus coming in for a landing!
- IrwinFletcher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11> "To fly 7 million light years to O'Hare and then have to turn around and go home because your gate was occupied is simply unacceptable," said O'Hare controller and union official Craig Burzych.
Considering the air traffic around O'Hare, I wouldn't be surprised if they took one look at the stack and pattern and said "Ah, screw this, let's go to Utah and ***** up some cattle." - marinist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"The theory is the sighting was caused by a 'weather phenomenon,'"
Hmm...how exactly does a "weather phenomenon" produce a clearly physical, defined object over Concourse C? It's safer to say the FAA simply does not want to publicly discuss this issue, despite years of commercial pilot sightings. - enlightenme, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10yeah super, they all got together to play a big prank and risk their jobs.
Pilots that report incidents like these are putting their careers on the line. - dcvtss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I swear to god if I see the term "loosing" too much more I'm going to "loose" my ***** mind.
- miket, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Hey, I work for United at O'Hare! we have cameras pointed at every gate
- ruslanr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13@ chi1thook
why the ***** would GWB be considered the leader of the human race? - Screwy1138, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10no one believes the pics or movies anyway.
- kilikogo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10meh. seems unlikely that it was an extraterrestial spacecraft.
- jellomizer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8U.F.O. = Unidentified Flying Object. It doesn't mean Aliens, or a government conspiracy. It is something you have see that is flying that you are unable to identify. When I was a teenager I say a U.F.O. Waiting for the school bus (6:30 AM, in the dark) It seems to move faster then an airplane and I didn't hear any noises. But it could be an airplane, flying low enough to seem like it is flying faster, but high enough to be quiet. Or it just may have been a Meteorite or a bug flying reflecting light from the house lights, or heck I just could have sneezed and had some stars in my sight. There a million things out there that fly, most of them are natural and documented. But if it outside your range of experience then it is a UFO
- MarkStrube, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Excuse me? Practically all airports are gov't funded. Stop bothering to type, please.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7alien corpses or it didn't happen
- Velveteen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7@spliffy
Cynical internet sarcasm doesn't automatically mean you're smart any more. - Matrix_Prime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7naturally, all these ***** people around and nobody has a camera to take a picture?
- bariswheel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7We're under yer oceans, scoping out your keeps.
- angryredplanet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6...but unfortunately the gates don't hover 1500-1900ft above the ground :(
- Ziggyman311, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Everyone that is so willing to write this off as nothing should look again and realize the type of individuals that are making these claims. Controllers and pilots are risking their job to an amazing degree to report situations like this.
- angryredplanet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The problem with the "pics or it's fake" mentality is that it stereotypes all those who saw the same thing. We're not talking about drug addicts or street vagrants (although they may be witnesses also), we're talking about people *with* credibility - the manager of United, pilots (who are trained to report such occurances) as well as ground crew, mechanics and others.
In order to discredit a group sighting, you need a better explanation than "spontaneous mass hallucination". I'm sorry but weather phenomena do not accelerate vertically from a stand-still through cloud cover leaving a gaping hole either.
I'm assuming that it was accurately reported as well, which let's face it, is not realistic. Nevertheless, it can't be said that all these people are a few cows short of a paddock simultaneously and for the same duration of time. - nmoline, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7The video worked for me with firefox just opened Windows Media Player. As a note the video is not of the event it is of a guy talking about the event nothing special.
- teamgwho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6evidence for that statement please?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Pilots are VERY wary about reporting UFOs as they know it will cause them to be psychologically evaluated by their employers/FAA not to mention jokes/ridicule from their co-workers. They are also trained in identifying all sorts of weather phenomena and other aircrafts. So you have 2 very reputable witnesses in pilots and co-pilots who argue what they saw even after others say it was just the weather phenomena.
They have been mentioning it on CNN Headline News all morning also. - Screwy1138, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5You know, not to say I believe this stuff, but the exact same description of an object was seen by my relatives 30-40 years ago (I don't know exact timeframe), in the US. They called the local airport and they said they noticed it and did not know what it was. I wrote it off as "whatever", but interesting that the description matches yours identically.
- CorvetteC6, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6In a world where everything is videoed, at an airport where dozens is people (many with cell phones with cameras) and no pics or video? Yeah right....... BTW it opens in Mozilla
- gabeN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5O'hare is a MAJOR hub... they were probably just on a layover to Pluto or something...
- dan2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Why? Alpha Centauri is only 4 light years away :)
