- jnordb, on 08/04/2008, -0/+19Once upon a time I was falling in love, now I'm only falling......oh wait...wrong kind of eclipse.
- DarkSideofMoon, on 08/04/2008, -1/+20The man who filmed this is named Stephen Bedingfield. There were 7 other people on the plane (minus pilot and co-pilot).
During the past week I've been in Nunavut (arctic in Canada) filming the people that were on this trip and am making a short documentary on eclipse chasers. It's weird to watch this movie and know that I've been interacting closely with these people all week. I swear they were the most dedicated people I've ever met on seeing 90 seconds of totality.
It's awesome to see this getting out there. Let me know if you want to learn anything more (I learned a ton this week!) - inactive, on 08/04/2008, -2/+19oh my god look at that!

- dopre, on 08/04/2008, -4/+8Many people are so spooked by apostrophes that a word like “they’re” seems to them as if it might mean almost anything. In fact, it’s always a contraction of “they are.” If you’ve written “they’re,” ask yourself whether you can substitute “they are.” If not, you’ve made a mistake. “Their” is a possessive pronoun like “her” or “our” “They eat their hotdogs with sauerkraut.” Everything else is “there.” “There goes the ball, out of the park! See it? Right there! There aren’t very many home runs like that.” “Thier” is a common misspelling, but you can avoid it by remembering that “they” and “their” begin with the same three letters. Another hint: “there” has “here” buried inside it to remind you it refers to place, while “their” has “heir” buried in it to remind you that it has to do with possession.

- jeremyduffy, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Huh. After reading the comments, I'm glad I didn't bother to put on my headphones for it. However, that IS really cool. How often do you see an eclipse let alone from a plane?
- ImPr3zA, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Damm idiots: Digg the 1rst one: http://digg.com/space/Beautiful_Video_of_a_Solar_E ...
- macrymble, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1If they wanted to enjoy the eclipse so much, they should have flown in the opposite direction.
- Monkeydew06, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Video you shot or it didn't happen.
- Kyan, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1And the moose, don't forget the moose!
- flangepiece, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1I must say I was filled with a wholly holy joy as the radiant shafts of spaghetti burst forth at the end of this clip. Praise be.

- Sharky35, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1So they flew the width of the moon in one minute?
Maybe they were flying against the motion of the moon traversing the sky, but I have seen a solar eclipse in totality and it lasted for several minutes. I wish I were a astronomer so I could speak to this on a deeper level. - fr0mundacheese, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1i was totally gonna call you whiskers. But, you're more like a Jackass
- toecutter169, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Leave the sound off for this, people!
