- slvrbullet87, on 05/01/2009, -1/+33Dugg for magnetic tornadoes
- inactive, on 05/01/2009, -0/+21I couldn't agree more. Mars came over to my housewarming last weekend, and all he did was eat my chips and sulk in the corner - wouldn't join in with Twister of Wii. ***** Mars, boring *****.
- williemain, on 05/01/2009, -1/+19Not as exciting as Uranus!
- chocula78, on 05/01/2009, -3/+21Mars is exciting for different reasons.
For example the POSSIBILITY OF LIFE. - renemartini, on 05/01/2009, -0/+13I always preferred Sailor Mercury to Sailor Mars.... ahhh nostalgia
- longbow486, on 05/01/2009, -0/+11I'm sorry Fry they changed its name back in the 2200's to end that stupid joke..
- christoast, on 04/30/2009, -2/+11That's because you don't know anything about Mars.
- h3lx, on 05/01/2009, -0/+9I'd like to see some video of these magnetic tornados leeching plasma off the sun. That sounds too good to miss.

"Mercury was once seen as a cold, dead little world, spinning around the sun unchanged for the past 4 billion years.
No longer: Observations from the Messenger spacecraft say it’s anything but."
Seriously...when are we going to stop making the same retarded assumption over and over again? Does anyone really think *anything* can go "unchanged" for 4 billion years? I mean seriously now. How many times do we have to read "Scientists shocked to find out things are actually happening elsewhere in the universe!" - m4csrgh3yk3v, on 05/01/2009, -1/+8Mercury is so hot right now.
- g33kfu, on 05/01/2009, -0/+6What's it called now?
- Mullinator, on 05/01/2009, -0/+6Ya, but if it were possible for life to exist on Mecury it would definitely be way more interesting than life on Mars.
- velveetaavenger, on 05/01/2009, -0/+6Mars is more exciting because we'll be living there before we'll be living on Mercury.
- davidg11, on 05/01/2009, -0/+6Uh no water or ice water on mercury....so no...NOT more interesting than mars. Potential LIFE is interesting. Period.
Just go to Europa already. - RealmDown, on 05/01/2009, -0/+5We will understand the universe when we find its backup generator.
- Zaradia, on 05/01/2009, -3/+8More magnetic tornados. More evidence of our electric universe.
- BobDle, on 05/01/2009, -0/+4space stuff is great
- davidg11, on 05/01/2009, -0/+4Why is there no potential..where is the constant outflowing of methane coming from on Mars?
Your know-it-all ass? - Marnault22, on 05/01/2009, -0/+4Mercury lacks an atmosphere so even though it is close to the sun the dark side is very cold, while the side currently facing the sun is quite hot. The average temperature ranges between -200°C to 400°C. Without an atmosphere to keep the heat in, as night falls the temperature quickly drops. In contrast Venus has such a thick atmosphere that its temperature is relatively consistent day and night, and even though it is further away from the sun than Mercury the average temperature is around 470°C.
- christoast, on 04/30/2009, -1/+5Did we really think mercury was cold before this? I thought we knew these kind of things, what else don't we know?
- somnus, on 05/01/2009, -0/+4Bowie disagrees.
- dafragsta, on 05/01/2009, -0/+4Either that, or the power runs out and all we know is the squeal of a UPS.
- 8FoldPath, on 05/01/2009, -0/+3No kidding. Olympus Mons, anyone?
- amabaie, on 04/30/2009, -4/+7Yeah, that's one hot looking planet. :-)
- suprememilo, on 05/01/2009, -0/+2Mars was cool until Dr. Manhattan's clock broke.
- KAJed82, on 05/01/2009, -0/+2You sir get dugg because I came here looking for this exact comment. Well played.
- Hellahulla, on 05/01/2009, -0/+2FTA "Mercury was once seen as a cold, dead little world...."
Since when was Mercury ever seen as a cold world?
And as for the sun plasma tornado things, I want to see on of them, it must be stunning in many ways. - Jektal, on 05/01/2009, -0/+2Mercury?
- Marnault22, on 05/01/2009, -0/+2Mercury is actually very cold, at night, dropping to almost -200°C. This is due to the lack of atmosphere, so the even though it is close to the sun, at night the temperature quickly falls.
- inactive, on 05/01/2009, -0/+1"Mercury was once seen as a cold, dead little world, spinning around the sun unchanged for the past 4 billion years."
Misinformation! The Universe is only 6000 years old! Why is that so hard for everyone to understand??? - designerutah, on 05/01/2009, -0/+2"very cold, at night" ... what? I'm sure you meant on the darkside, but it was funny... imagining the Sun going to bed, turning itself out... ahhh... nightime!
- GunWraith, on 05/01/2009, -0/+2Mercury!
- JCEEZ, on 05/01/2009, -0/+2Mercury, closest to the sun, a cool liquid metal and a ***** car!
- 2007GT, on 05/01/2009, -0/+1BREAKING!
- hereticoftruth, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1This clinches it! I am not ever going to Mercury! Get some other fool for that!
- protogenxl, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1postin' "Me too!" like some brain-dead AOL-er
I should do the world a favor and cap you like Old Yeller
You're just about as useless as jpegs to Hellen Keller! - rblee83, on 05/01/2009, -0/+1Magnetic plasma tornadoes and volcanoes ejecting magma that turns to glass before it hits the ground? I want to see that!!
- Kstha1, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1/palmface...guys the creator has spoken, and he knows everything. Listen, follow and praise, him, WTFmoment...
- Rudegar, on 05/01/2009, -0/+1mmmmmmmm magnetic Tomaso's
well when I played good old ssi's buck rogers on c64 I liked mars better
Mercury was full of snob renaissance freaks - anthropodeus, on 05/01/2009, -1/+2Mercury.
- inactive, on 05/01/2009, -0/+1Mercury is indeed an exceeding dull place compared to Mars, as Mars is compared to Titan. But Messenger is still a heck of a mission.
- Spirckle, on 05/01/2009, -1/+2To say that a thing is exciting or not exciting is to say more about yourself than it is to say anything about the subject in question.
I still find Mars, the bracing home of the war god, more exciting than that hellhole pit of the messenger god, Mercury.
Wait, I am not sure what that says about me. - Rothbardosaurus, on 05/01/2009, -0/+1Space stuff is awesome.
- inactive, on 05/01/2009, -1/+2Don't you know foamy lattes make me farty and bloated!
