- kurupt, on 04/07/2008, -0/+10The "Corona" Borealis Supercluster is pretty refreshing with a lime wedge.
- ElbertF, on 04/07/2008, -0/+8We are the center of that what surrounds us, yes.
- KaiUno, on 04/07/2008, -0/+8Another interesting phenomenon is that, for some reason, somebody always has to point this out by placing an irrelevant message about it.
Who the ***** cares? Is this some kind of contest? I'm glad to have seen this pass by, 75 others are as well. Give it a rest already. - sdub86, on 04/07/2008, -0/+5Might be because the topic is less popular. A digg for an Apple article is probably worth much less than a digg for a Space article. You'll see Sports articles reach the home page with fewer diggs as well.
- ElbertF, on 04/07/2008, -1/+6Infinity goes both ways, so I'd say we're perfectly average.
- Miketwo345, on 04/07/2008, -2/+6We are very, very small.
- Daz3, on 04/07/2008, -2/+5Perspective is a wonderful thing.
- inactive, on 04/07/2008, -0/+3What if the Universe was an atom in another world beyond our comprehension?
- ElbertF, on 04/07/2008, -0/+3I don't think the number of comments is part of the algorithm.
- edwartica, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2Unless our universe is inside a marble, next to several other marbles that some giant is caring around right now. Maybe we're just a fleck on one of their atoms.
- buddamus, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2We can map the stars aad split the atom, why can't we stop my socks getting lost in the wash
- inactive, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2you are here ----->

- MarrowMan, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Milky Way at the center? MMMM... yummy..... and another thing, wtf with the Italics?
- Tkgeisha, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Sometimes you just need a little perspective.
- bosssmiley, on 04/07/2008, -1/+2Observable universe needs more Union Jacks in it.
Bagsie the Shapley supercluster for the greater glory of Her Britannic Majesty! - matthew.paul, on 04/07/2008, -1/+2I knew it! We are the center of the universe!
/sarcasm - muchachoburacho, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1How many times does this need to be said. It has to do with an algorithem which favors stories that are getting dugg when fewer stories are being dugg. Notice this story was made popular at 5:30 eastern time in America. This is probably right around the time digg receives it's least traffic. (I don't know that, i assuming based on the times in the US, and assuming that the US account for a lot of their traffic.)
- Tkgeisha, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1O.K Zaphod,You're a really hoopy frood!
- Millsee, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1I thought it was a long way to the shop
- Zaggynl, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Right, outer space is a big place, now where are those impulse engines and warp drives?
- ultraJesus, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Is this a cross section or something? How can a 2d map chart a 3d area?
- craighoxton, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1"Wherever you go; there you are" - Buckaroo Banzai
- edwartica, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1I prefer the SOLar system myself. Less of an after taste, and its usually cheaper too.
- pugs909, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Someone from Coma Cluster has been stealing my internet.
- craighoxton, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1"If there's a bright center to the universe, you're on the planet that it's farthest from."
- bgmowen, on 04/07/2008, -1/+1Hello new wallpaper!
- ghostfaceDX, on 04/09/2008, -0/+0oh noes! the reapers are out there, somewhere
- crichards7, on 04/07/2008, -0/+0Total perspective vortex?
- ElbertF, on 04/07/2008, -2/+2It's called the image section.
- oda1, on 04/07/2008, -0/+0My mind can't even begin to comprehend the vastness of the universe. We, and all we know are so small and insignificant. And if "We" are small and insignificant, what does that say about one man?
- ghostfaceDX, on 04/09/2008, -0/+0Or they are just a fleck on one of ours? Or we are just a fleck on our own...
- ethomas046, on 04/07/2008, -1/+1Anyone interested in the cosmos should consider one of the Scientific American Special Editions. I just finished the most recent one that came with my subscription and it is fascinating and very readable material from some of the most prolific researchers.
http://www.sciam.com/special/toc.cfm?issueid=6 - snareguy17, on 04/07/2008, -4/+3So Kevin Rose needs to add an xkcd section, Yahtzee section, and now an astronomy picture of the day section.
- loyx, on 04/07/2008, -1/+0haha, i always thought that too!
- happytedium, on 04/07/2008, -13/+2What's with these stories with 1 comment and ~60-70 diggs all of a sudden hitting the front page at the same time? Seen it happen a couple times lately.
