- doublsh0t, on 08/10/2008, -0/+14I'm awaiting the press release that is being prepared and "awaiting confirmation by analysts" or something--the one that'll supposedly make the discovery of water on Mars pale in comparison to this.
- mecharabbit, on 08/10/2008, -2/+16Gotta give props to the engineers who designed the lander. I know it's expensive, but I would rather we spend our money on this adventure to Mars than unjustified wars in the Middle- Eastern portion of this planet.
- inactive, on 08/10/2008, -0/+5Here's a better idea... instead of trying to find life on Mars, why don't we just bring life to Mars. Send some 'extremophytes' or other forms of life that will thrive on the martian planet. Sorta like envitro-fertilization on a planetary scale. I would like to see what happens, and hope that it starts a chain reaction of life on Mars. seeds, pollen, fungus, algae, Carrot Top are not out of the question.

thats what she said? - MorphicMusic, on 08/10/2008, -0/+5Haha you think that this is the real Quade...IT IS!
- TheMachine1, on 08/10/2008, -0/+3Solving domestic problems is largely putting money into a consumption machine that gets larger daily as the population increases. Its making people alive now lives easier but perhaps future generations will not see as great improvement in their own lives due to the massive debt burden.
Putting money into the space program is R&D. Colonization of mars is something that will be very important to people in the future. - inactive, on 08/10/2008, -0/+3Then it will evolve into sentient life, develop space technology and attack us.
God, that would be so ***** awesome. - LuckyASN, on 08/10/2008, -0/+3Yeah, we're done with this meme.
- Frejesal, on 08/10/2008, -2/+5Dirt.
Whoopee. - inactive, on 08/10/2008, -0/+3i wonder how much one screen's blockage and the need to use another one is worth monetarily..
- werries, on 08/10/2008, -0/+2this wasn't even a good application of this meme, you could have done so much better.
- ncc1701, on 08/10/2008, -0/+2for what we've spent on the war, i'm sure we could've gotten you a one-way trip to that planet.
- HouseCentipede, on 08/10/2008, -0/+1That just turned out to be salts.
- RogerStrong, on 08/10/2008, -0/+1Fine. Done. They cut the space program's budget way back for 30 years.
Are your domestic problems fixed yet? - inactive, on 08/10/2008, -2/+2Here is a news report about it:

- Frejesal, on 08/10/2008, -2/+1Well it turns out we're spending money on both. All while in debt $9.5 trillion. TRILLION.

Foresight. Worth its weight in tax dollars. - datagod, on 08/10/2008, -11/+6The Mars lander soiled itself? Poor little guy...
- m0laria, on 08/10/2008, -9/+2***** you both, two of my friends died while trying to unblock the clumps from the opening of the phoenix lander.
- wtfbatman, on 08/10/2008, -7/+0I would rather spend money on domestic problems rather than on a robot going to a planet I'll never live on.
