- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -4/+128I knew it felt like i was at work longer everyday!
- adml_shake, on 12/29/2007, -2/+117Knowing my luck, it will be during the most boring meeting ever.
- Sornos, on 12/29/2007, -8/+121Actually, time does exist. Time is a measurement of space-time, like distance. The comprehension of time is an illusion, but I assure you, time is very real.
- BigManOnCampus, on 12/29/2007, -46/+144omg, what better argument for time being an illusion than a variable time?
Wake up, peeps, time doesn't *really* exist. We are a sequence of state changes in a quantized space. - inactive, on 12/29/2007, -2/+95But time is relative. If it slows down, we won't be able to tell the difference. If time does stop, I'm curious how we would see it.
- Shorties, on 12/29/2007, -8/+92"This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends

Not with a bang but a whimper" - T.S. Elliot - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -14/+94Ron Paul can speed it back up
- explnx, on 04/27/2009, -0/+69Even if time was slowing down, it wouldn't matter because the speed at which we percieve time would also slow down.
- PrettyMuchBryce, on 12/29/2007, -5/+67Stupid joke about time.
- DGhost, on 12/29/2007, -1/+61>>sequence of state changes
What is time but a way to measure change? - noumuon, on 12/29/2007, -3/+51this is why i hate the internet... pseudo-intellectualism at its best.
- esbern1, on 12/29/2007, -4/+50congratulations on an adorable attempt to generalize one of the most debated topics in physics so that you can look awesome on the internet, and yet completely failing.
- hugoguzman, on 12/29/2007, -4/+47The mechanics of time become more apparent on acid
- Shootfast, on 12/29/2007, -0/+42Time could have stopped for a million years relative to another observer, but we would never know...
- chicken101, on 12/29/2007, -1/+41Time does exist, but it's not the same for everyone, it depends entirely on the observer. Gravitational fields slow time down, so does speed.... hence Einstein's time dilation equations and the twin paradox...
But anyway, time exists. - TheRascalKing, on 12/29/2007, -0/+38Satirical response.
- MacEnvy, on 12/29/2007, -2/+37Welcome to science articles on digg. Enjoy your stay.
- booshack, on 12/29/2007, -1/+34Misplaced usage of "I see what you did there", which for some reason gets dugg up anyway.
- tcpip4lyfe, on 12/29/2007, -3/+36My brain just got owned.
- moocow1452, on 12/29/2007, -3/+33If time is relative, does it really matter?
- anagoge, on 12/29/2007, -1/+30Mildly amusing counter-response.
- OHiggins, on 12/29/2007, -10/+37Time is irrelevant. I think it was Einstein that said time and space are not conditions in which we live, but modes in which we think.
- postitnote, on 12/29/2007, -0/+27Dammit Chloe WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!
- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -4/+31Thank you, Mel Gibson.
- spokrey, on 12/29/2007, -2/+23Hiro: "But Ando, I can really stop time! I'll prove it to you!"
...POOF. - Reziarfg, on 12/29/2007, -1/+22If you think you know quantum physics, then you don't know quantum physics.
- 0260, on 12/29/2007, -0/+20Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day....
- thebellmaster1x, on 12/29/2007, -3/+23Ron Paul can submit legislation faster than the speed of light.
- bctrainers, on 12/29/2007, -3/+21Looks like I will need to get my flux capacitor...
- thebellmaster1x, on 12/29/2007, -1/+18"We are a sequence of state changes in a quantized space."
Yeah, and "time" is the name given to the rate of those changes. It's not a thing, no, but nobody says it is unless they're sadly misinformed. - S1ngular1ty1, on 12/29/2007, -0/+17No, time actually slows down and speeds up. Satellites must have their clocks corrected every now and then because they become out of sync with ground based clocks because time for the satellites has slowed down due to their fast movement around the Earth.
Time itself is relative. Not just our perception of time. - doshindude, on 12/29/2007, -0/+15Wait till you try to analyze the Legend of Zelda timeline after OoT.
- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -0/+1488 MILES PER HOUR!!!
- Dundasbro, on 12/29/2007, -2/+16My brain hurts...
- staeiou, on 12/29/2007, -1/+15That was Immanuel Kant. Einstein was very much a believer in the actual existence of time and space - he even invented a way of fusing the two into a single theory.
- noumuon, on 12/29/2007, -2/+15"If you know quantum mechanics" - that's a bold statement to make from someone online. do YOU know quantum mechanics? how many years have you spent studying exactly?
- REsplin, on 12/29/2007, -2/+14ever think of not posting?
- DeFex, on 12/29/2007, -2/+14You can especially notice it on Friday afternoon when you are waiting to get out of work.

- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -0/+11What's mind? Doesn't matter. What's matter? Never mind.
- oilcan, on 12/29/2007, -0/+11"What sequence of state changes in a quantized space is it?"
"11:35 PM" - TheAkolyte, on 12/29/2007, -1/+12Technically speaking, everything we do affects the universe, because, we're part of it. Recognizing time and space doesn't separate you from it.
- Dundasbro, on 12/29/2007, -1/+11I dunno why anyone would want to throw a wench into demographic works, I much prefer to just pimp her out.
- WaterDragon, on 12/29/2007, -0/+10Best comment I've read so far!
- jgzman, on 12/29/2007, -0/+10Time is not explicitly mentioned as being under the control of the Federal Government, therefor under the tenth amendment, time shall be administered by the several states.
- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -0/+10thats weird, its been feeling to me like its speeding up
- elipabst, on 12/29/2007, -0/+9Agreed, time is not constant. They've done experiments putting atomic clocks on airplanes and had them fly around at different altitudes, because gravity itself causes a distortion of space-time there is an effect called a time dilation. When the planes landed, the times on their clocks were different when compared to identical ones left on earth. If time were constant regardless of the reference frame, they should all be the same.
