nasa.gov — During the six-hour, 33-minute spacewalk, Garan and fellow astronaut Mike Fossum exchanged a depleted Nitrogen Tank Assembly for a new one, removed thermal covers and launch locks from the Kibo laboratory, reinstalled a repaired television camera onto the space station's left P1 truss, and retrieved samples of a dust-like substance from the left Sol

Whenever I see photos like this it always makes me chuckle about one of those "we never put a man on the moon" people I saw on a tv show who was adamant that things like this could never happen. This guy was like 70 years old, and to prove that we couldn't have possibly done anything like this he built a little clear box with a vacuum pump attached to one side and a regular rubber work glove he bought from a hardware store in the other. He'd put his hand in the glove and show how it works in regular atmosphere then pump all the air out of the box to show how the glove becomes rigid in a vacuum. That was his proof that the entire space program is a hoax. I guess nobody ever pointed out to him that NASA doesn't shop for spacesuit parts at Home Depot... - evilpoptart, on 06/11/2008, -0/+4we should get the pic. of the day from NASA on the front page every day.
- Bravesguy18, on 06/11/2008, -0/+6Is that a depleted Nitrogen Tank Assembly in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

- sinseeker, on 06/11/2008, -2/+0And Obama wants to cut the less than 1% of the National Budget that NASA gets so we can teach 1-5 year olds? Shouldn't that be the parent's duty? And doesn't NASA and education go hand and hand? Sorry guys...Obama doesn't have my vote.
