- julcermac, on 07/22/2008, -3/+107great video. great message. loved it.
- danharlow, on 07/22/2008, -2/+90Matt is such a cool guy. It's nice that there are at least a few people who try to bring some good into the world rather than just sit in the lonely dark making cynical, anonymous internet comments.
- danharlow, on 07/22/2008, -5/+76Folks, the point of APOD is to help people become aware of the beauty of the universe. When we see the good in the universe we see the good in our own world and lives. This was something Carl Sagan taught us years ago because he knew it was important for us to respect life, and also enjoy it.
The more we respect each other and the more we put aside petty differences, the more likely we will survive as a species. - itsmoirob, on 07/22/2008, -2/+71He also dances with NASA doesn't he...on the plane?
People could keep putting this video up from different sites and I'd keep Digging them all. Great video - MarsFKA, on 07/22/2008, -6/+58Inspired! There is no reason why an astronomy site needs to be 100 percent astronomy. If something feels good, then do it.
- chupon, on 07/22/2008, -3/+54That Korean guard has some crazy moves.
- konto77, on 07/22/2008, -2/+37I'd give almost anything to have the chance to travel to so many places....
- mysn239, on 07/22/2008, -3/+37The most Human thing is Happiness.
- johnnyzero, on 07/22/2008, -3/+36"few people are able to watch the above video without smiling" ... but you are sure to find most of them on Digg.com.
dugg for the smiles. - Fuzzycop, on 07/22/2008, -2/+24This was a great choice for APOD for today! At first I was wondering what the hell this had to do with Astronomy, but now I'm glad I watched it. By the end of the video I was smiling! Thanks APOD...for spreading good feelings!
- vtblom, on 07/22/2008, -3/+23Come on folks, lighten up! It brought a smile to my face this morning.
- bs0l, on 07/23/2008, -3/+19All this and no link to Matt's site?
http://wherethehellismatt.com/ - Mard, on 07/22/2008, -4/+18What is with all of these APOD haters? I liked the video and haven't seen it before. Dugg.
- Labiosus, on 07/22/2008, -2/+13Great video!
Matt knows what its all about. - phesen, on 07/22/2008, -2/+13There's happiness out there.
- kingofkolt, on 07/23/2008, -1/+11"It's nice that there are at least a few people who try to bring some good into the world rather than just sit in the lonely dark making cynical, anonymous internet comments."
This is just off the irony charts. - cl2yp71c, on 07/23/2008, -1/+11...ahemmm
=[ - woulok, on 07/23/2008, -1/+10Yes. It is because you're 19 and she's 15
- Bashkii, on 07/22/2008, -3/+12It's a great feeling!! BRAVO!!!
- ryleyleckie, on 07/23/2008, -4/+13happiness = turning off the news
- Sil369, on 07/23/2008, -1/+9I was expecting to be Bel-Aired. Bastard.
- Vodd9, on 07/23/2008, -4/+12I didn't see zerglings on patrol for South Korea.
Something is wrong. - canadastra, on 07/22/2008, -2/+10If you're a daily viewer of APOD you'll know that they have a lighter side. I welcome that. It's a bit of an Easter Egg ... 99.5% of the time it's very much on topic, then you get something that's pure fun added in. Why not?!
I have a degree in astrophysics and have been interested in the subject for 39 years and I don't have a problem with it.
Cheers! - jaybol, on 07/23/2008, -0/+8i take back what i said...that's right im a flip-flopper
- inactive, on 07/23/2008, -0/+8You can give a few thousand dollars and a year of your time. You can do it.
- kstoneho, on 07/22/2008, -3/+10This video really makes me feel good about the universe! I found it refreshing and interesting that there was a video today.
- ggawlik, on 07/22/2008, -5/+12And beside all of the above, this video DID generate a lot more comments than usual. Which is pretty cool.
BTW, I thought the video was great! - inactive, on 07/23/2008, -2/+9That was AWESOME. I wanna dance in the video!
- RAGEdemon, on 07/23/2008, -0/+7I see you actually watched the video after the original comment?
The guy has soul... If most people were anything like him, the world would be a much happier place. - affanjam, on 07/23/2008, -1/+8dude isn't that statutory rape
- johnnyzero, on 07/22/2008, -1/+8Worst comment in ages?
- dezmo, on 07/23/2008, -1/+7he's not rich, he just knows how to save money and travel cheaply
- johnnyzero, on 07/22/2008, -2/+7"Each day a different image or photograph of our fascinating universe is featured."
I would say this qualifies, get some emotions. - jackieshmackie, on 07/23/2008, -1/+6trudging through that horrible grammar gave me a headache
- VADunlap, on 07/23/2008, -1/+6Hey, I stood in that room and believe me, he's very serious about those "moves". Kudos to NASA for posting this video and giving me another reason to enjoy today.
- WTF69, on 07/23/2008, -0/+5Reminds me of this one Dance Monkey Dance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a15KgyXBX24 - johnnyzero, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5Unfortunately for most of the Digg population, Carl Sagan's time was like, billions and billions of years ago.
- SteveIsTheDude, on 07/23/2008, -3/+8It pisses me off to see people walking.. flaunting the ability to walk in a world full of people in wheelchairs....
That's what you sound like, jealous of this guy because he got to travel...
You need to get your head out of your ass. - twilitezone, on 07/22/2008, -2/+7I have to agree with ggawlik's comment, whether good or bad, "this video DID generate a lot more comments than usual" and I find it better to have a heated discussion rather then none at all. Besides, I LOVED the video, at first (I must admit) I had to double check I was on the right site...BUT, I must say it was really inspiring and refreshing, it made me smile :) Good job APOD!
- SnapETom, on 07/23/2008, -0/+4Dammit. Every time I think I hate humanity, I see something like this and the Discovery Channel commercial.
- Evolutuon, on 07/23/2008, -1/+5Why not?
- FirstDigg, on 07/23/2008, -3/+7Well, its not really "astronomy" but it does picture many places around the world. Anyway I love the video so happy to see it being passed around again.
- jedisushi, on 07/23/2008, -1/+5I'll never get tired of this video.
- FishRHuman2, on 07/23/2008, -0/+4Happy, yes. 'Dancing' may be pushing it.
That said, this is nicely happy. - HowItIs, on 07/23/2008, -1/+5This video is very powerful. I found myself actually tearing up thinking about the connections he made with all those people, across so many cultural and political divides. Beautiful man, just damn beautiful.
- LoudMusic, on 07/23/2008, -0/+3The airplane / service Matt used is not owned by NASA. What you saw in the video was a company called Zero-G.
http://www.gozerog.com/ - max420, on 07/23/2008, -1/+4I've seen this a thousand times, but it always puts a smile on my face. The dance Papua New Guinea with those tribal dudes jumping up and down is priceless. The dance in India, also GENIUS!
The Korean Demilitarized zone dance is also awesome! - Braxo, on 07/23/2008, -2/+5I thought this video was absolutely amazing.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -0/+3"buddhist cosmology" is not science
- meenxo, on 07/23/2008, -1/+4Love it!
