  • mstrebe, on 08/06/2008, -1/+3I can't believe we wasted so much money on this telescope when so many people on earth are still starving! What an enormous waste of resources. The carbon footprint of this ecodisaster is enormous--all those scientists driving to work for all those years!!! Discovering that the expansion of the universe is expanding, discovering dark matter and dark energy, putting a firm number on the age of the universe, and a few miscellaneous dwarf planets--how are >any< of those things going to create world peace? We need to STOP this waste now, and STOP putting science above CO2 emissions.
