- dafragsta, on 10/24/2008, -1/+7I've seen this same ***** comment on the last 3 stories.
- pandalay, on 10/24/2008, -0/+5waiting for new pictures with higher resolution)
- cLamm, on 10/24/2008, -1/+6keep the politics in the political submissions please.
- TheSkunkMonkey, on 10/24/2008, -0/+4That's only the perception because news of it breaking down gets more headlines and air time than it's discoveries.
- Whisperium, on 10/24/2008, -0/+4I was going to bury your comment because of your link spam - but the site is too ****ing cool to be buried. damn you.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 10/24/2008, -0/+4Space is a rough place. Earth orbit is even tougher with all the junk flying around at thousands of miles per hour.
- Whisperium, on 10/24/2008, -1/+4This is great! I bought two kits! Thank you so much!!
FAIL!
At least the first commentor with his comment spam posted a useful link... you're is just $$$ grubbing crap! - rockon4life45, on 10/24/2008, -0/+3Two anomalous events....
- RogerStrong, on 10/24/2008, -0/+3....says the guy whining on Digg, about things he's wrong about anyway, instead of doing something productive.
- Whisperium, on 10/24/2008, -0/+3stop hitting refresh.
- scottysmith, on 10/24/2008, -0/+3 unbelievable what these NASA guys can do....but even things go wrong with multi billion dollar projects, nothing is perfect i guess!
- TSK05, on 10/25/2008, -0/+2Hubble is very dated and NASA wanted to put it out of its misery and spent the money we're spending on rebuilding it to make a much better telescope. But nope, public outcry because Hubble is so famous and the people who actually use the equipment get put in the back seat.
Anyway, you have to keep in mind that there are technical challenges in space that don't exist on Earth, such as random electrical activity because the upper reaches of our atmosphere aren't nearly as shielded as the surface of the Earth. - Wildthing, on 10/25/2008, -0/+2Would you believe Hubble runs on a 486? As amazing as NASA is, no Hubble cannot run Crysis ;)
- CaptCarrot, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2Translation: The saucers are now safely past the range of the lenses.
- cLamm, on 10/24/2008, -1/+3/agree
hubble snap shots are always interesting. - fabkebab, on 10/24/2008, -1/+2I guess it will keep me going until the LHC comes back online
- steelaman, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1yipee
- rockon4life45, on 10/25/2008, -0/+1OH SHI-
- Matricul8tr, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1predict-hubble will be reported as permanently disabled during this last fix...just a hunch ;P)
- garryw, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1Can I get a James Webb telescope online? Who needs Hubble?
- Wildthing, on 10/25/2008, -0/+1Digg was invented and built by an American.
- bobbknight, on 10/24/2008, -1/+1Kewl
- SonnyW, on 10/24/2008, -2/+2It still beats the Large Hadron Collider.
But then again, building a doomsday device is probably more complicated than building a telescope. - cLamm, on 10/24/2008, -5/+5I wonder what the longest period of time that the hubble was actually functioning is...
I mean it's great, helped us learn a lot, but I think it's been broken more often than not. - cubicledrone, on 10/24/2008, -3/+2Hey that's nice. A story about an aging relic of a time when America invented and built things. Kind of almost makes me smile.
- whahaa, on 10/24/2008, -1/+0http://tinyurl.com/5n4jxq
- josejimenez, on 10/24/2008, -4/+0It's obvious global warming is responsible for the Hubble being temporarily out of commission. Thankfully, members of Greenpeace and a bunch of vegans were able to fix the space telescope by reversing global warming.
- trollick, on 10/24/2008, -5/+1You mean they restarted the computer that runs a copy of Photoshop they use to create all these amazing images?
- cubicledrone, on 10/24/2008, -7/+0Yeah, it's great and all, but we could use that money to put a bunch of blow-dried suits to work outsourcing the manufacturing of rubber ***** overseas and selling it at Wal-Mart at 34% interest.
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -11/+2Its because there aren't enough people of faith managing Hubble. Once Palin is in power, our experiments in safe will break down less through the power of prayer.
- imasuperDOTcom, on 10/24/2008, -23/+7How did this make it on the front page after 60 diggs, almost a full 24 hours, and no comments?
Oh well. I like being the first commentor. http://makemetheking.com/

What is Digg?
