- jriggs420, on 07/14/2008, -0/+20Anybody else notice the unclosed paren in the denominator?
- Nicksname1, on 07/14/2008, -3/+14Interesting but this guy has some pretty funny little sayings like he's a surfer stuck in the early 90s.
"what’s totally cool"
"How hawesome is that?"
"this ain’t my bag, baby"
"Even more cool"
"I think it is totally excellent"
I was really expecting to read cowabunga in the end but it never came. - davecor, on 07/14/2008, -0/+8More info;

- nullsession, on 07/11/2008, -0/+7Hey, I heart you for this one Phil. I teach astronomy in Iowa and was looking for this information just the other day to give to my summer students! Thanks!
- BadAstronomer, on 07/14/2008, -0/+6Cowabunga.
There. :-)
Stay gnarly,
-Phil - daebat, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4At least SOMEBODY is promoting astronomy. The other day a guy told me that he couldn't understand why we still have the space program and that we should abandon our missions to mars. Needless to say the guy raises deer and dogs in his back yard.
- middy, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4Wow, the whole series is pretty awesome. Check this one out:
http://www.uhaul.com/supergraphics/landing.aspx?si ... - jerryterhorst, on 07/14/2008, -2/+6totally hawesome.
- strictnein, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4Although the bury brigade has already done their work on you, what you're saying is true. U-Haul may have the lowest regard for its customers out of any major US company. Across the board the employees simply do not care about their customers and do not even provide the simplest of courtesies like answering the phone.
- hx219, on 07/14/2008, -0/+3is it me, or it is missing a ')' in the denominator?
- dave122, on 07/14/2008, -1/+4Yeah Uhaul is pretty much the worst, I and quite a few other people I know have been ***** over by them in the past.
" I don't think you do. You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them. "
bastards. - jasz, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2dugg for math :)
- arjie, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2"Ve is the speed (not velocity, and Dan threatened me over this, so I wanna be very clear) "
The variable only exists as a squared term in the equation, so even if you used the velocity you'd get the same result, no? Of course that's just me assuming that the notation we had in school and college (vector powers use dot product) and not some other funky thing. - taketheleap, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2dugg for "hawesome".
- Joh739, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1They put those images on vans in the US? That's awesome.
- travelina, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1Cool photo gallery of asteroid impact craters here:
http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2008/08/earth-sc ... - ewilliam, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2I don't care what they put on the sides of their goddamned vans, U-Haul sux, sux, suxxorz. I've been screwed over by them far too many times, and it's actually pissing me off even more that, instead of focusing on customer service and providing a better experience, they're worrying about the stupid pictures on the sides of the stupid broken-down vans.
Hey, well, maybe the cute little ads on the side of the vans will give you guys something to look at while you're stuck on the interstate because the engine died and nobody at U-Haul will answer your phone call.
No matter what they put on the side of their van, the company still sucks. I implore you, do NOT use U-Haul. - lonedog80, on 07/14/2008, -1/+2wow, a U-Haul advertisement on Digg? What is the internetz coming to?
- DestroyFascism, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Leonardo is that you?
- DCGaymer, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1I couldn't agree more. If only their quality and franchise controls were as good as their graphics.
- cuptocanada, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Here's a comment from the site:
"I could easily be wrong, but that equation doesn’t look right. There is a missing half of the parenthesis in the denominator, for one thing.
I used an eject speed of 9 km/sec, phi = 30 deg, giving Rb = 19,400 km.
Using a 10 km/sec eject speed, phi = 30 deg, yields Rb = -16,400 km. Note the negative, if nothing else!" - AngeloM3, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1My dad has a bad case of asteroids.
- jasz, on 07/14/2008, -1/+1dugg for math!
- elchupucabra, on 07/14/2008, -1/+0For a while there in the 80s, scientists thought this crater might have been the one that killed the dinosaurs, but later they found out it was the wrong time frame.
In case you're interested in seeing the Manson Crater, don't bother. It's been in filled in with glacial till for millions of years. - Faelenor, on 07/14/2008, -7/+6U-Haul sucks so much!!! I booked a truck for my move and a couple of days before the move, I called them to know the exact time of pick-up. They told me that they will call me the day I was supposed to move, because they couldn't tell me now! Even more, they told me that there could be a 24-48h delay!!! Needless to say, I canceled everything.
- jaythewise, on 07/14/2008, -2/+1Cool art does not make up for the fact that U-Haul is a garbage company.
www.uhaul-sucks.com/ - Rempefiesta, on 07/14/2008, -2/+0Something interesting in Iowa? Unheard of!
- daebat, on 07/14/2008, -3/+1umm... no.
- daebat, on 07/14/2008, -6/+3you suck bitch.
- SOMETIMESmovie, on 07/12/2008, -5/+0Haulin Asteroid!!! WHOA!
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -8/+3Totally excellent Haulin asteroid in Iowa.
