Earth's auroras are powered electrically by the sun!

nasa.gov — NASA has likened the THEMIS project's recent findings to discovering Earth is hooked up to a 30 kiloVolt battery in space that pumps a 650,000 Amp current into the Arctic! Apparently, Kristian Birkeland was correct that the sun and Earth transact electrically via an electric circuit. Moreover, he predicted this 100 years ago (c. 1908)!
