Anyone got the Picard facepalm ascii? - rodrigo74, on 04/18/2008, -0/+6If the book was called "America in Space: NASA's First Thirty Years" it wouldn't be much different, not much has happened in the last 20 years in terms of space exploration. We should have been in Mars and beyond a long time ago!!
- dudefaceguyman, on 04/18/2008, -2/+8Beautiful photos. Those Astronauts had huge balls back then since little was known about space and the moon yet we accomplished so much. Personally my proudest moment of our country. Huge works of courage and a massive step in aerial technology and science. Nasa changed the world.
- Harabeck, on 04/18/2008, -0/+5Rate at which the diggs are accumulated also matters.
- Pixelante, on 04/18/2008, -1/+5They're cool anyway.
- mehan, on 04/18/2008, -2/+6stfu already.
- MoofTheStoof, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3The people interested in this article killed somebody?
- toxicityj, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3You do realize that a LOT more gets done using people than robots, right? Robots are annoyingly slow, especially on uneven surfaces (Which is all the moon is; one gigantic uneven surface). They're not cost or time efficient at all.
- thedogfatherx, on 04/18/2008, -1/+4Awesome....Awesome....Awesome. NASA has done so much. It's amazing where we are at right now in space exploration. I tip my hat to all the people who have made this happen.
- Pixelante, on 04/18/2008, -2/+5Exactly. We, Diggers, never went to the Moon. Some brave, dedicated and talented people went there. They are worth trillions of us.
- datastorageguy, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Needs more white guys chain smoking with crew cuts and thin ties.
- RogerStrong, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2If people aren't interested in it, Congress won't fund it. After the first moon landing, people lost interest. Even Apollo 13, until the emergency, couldn't get air time on TV.
- Rapter09, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3Cheer to NASA. Here's to another successful - and hopefully well-funded - 50 more.
- datastorageguy, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2It was actually dugg on a set located in the Arizona desert. You can tell by the way the light hits the diggs.
- inactive, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2I hope your blind faith fades soon. Then when you wipe the ***** off your face from having it up your ass, you would know, I was only trying to help. ***** you pale ghost, id debate you on your moon stories any ***** day.
- MisterFurious, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1There should have been more. A lot more. I felt cheated at a 50-year history with only a page full of photos. For better reference, rent (or better, yet, buy) "From the Earth to the Moon." CLASSIC!
- bigjimslade, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2The book is great. HUGE format, too.
- zjbird, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Never before seen? Half of these have shown up on my Google Nasa pic of the day..
- thedogfatherx, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2i hope your kidding
- nekochan, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2no ascii for you.
but i agree with the groan. - csisop, on 04/18/2008, -2/+3Wait until China puts a man on the moon, then maybe NASA will get some funding.
Realistically though, robotic probes are much more efficient than sending people. Putting (spacesuit) boots on the ground anywhere is just for bragging rights. - DoscoJones, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1I don't know where you heard that, but it is not correct.
http://lsda.jsc.nasa.gov/books/apollo/S6CH6.htm - directive0, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1I smell someone who doesn't understand how Digg works!
- RubineBoy, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2I can't find the X-wing ... 50 years of history and they don't even talk about their best fighter!
- cubicledrone, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1Yeah, we get it. You're too cool for everyone else. Go away.
- cubicledrone, on 04/18/2008, -2/+2Now we have four hours of commercial-free continuous shopping for wedding dresses on TV. We will never build anything of consequence in this country again.
- toxicityj, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1this calls for the real deal
http://www.uncov.com/assets/2007/9/16/picard-facep ... - DanInAUSTRALIA, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1on ur way bak from space bring me bak some hi-res wallpapers k thx :)
- tjClassic82, on 05/07/2008, -0/+0I hope the government starts to put more money into our space program.. We have made great strides, but then stopped short awhile ago in making the real progression we should have.
- Elephant789, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1You're funny.
- designerutah, on 04/18/2008, -0/+0Does anyone really believe our Government was good enough to fake the moon landings so well that no other government of the time could have spotted the problems. Russian, British, Japanese, even Australian space telescopes had the Apollo craft in view between here and the Moon. So our government was able to send men partway to the Moon, and then fake the whole moon landing, and have the craft come back on the correct entry vectors several times without anyone noticing anything while looking through these large telescopes, or picking up the radio broadcasts and realizing they weren't coming from space?
- csisop, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1Their balls are especially huge since those spacesuits don't look like they could withstand vacuum for too long, especially since the boots are just silver painted army boots.
- trollick, on 04/18/2008, -2/+1For a moment there I thought they were filming fake moon landing on the second photo.
- cubicledrone, on 04/18/2008, -2/+1Enjoy them, because we sure as ***** aren't going to have any more. We don't even have the huevos to build bicycles in this country. We don't even make soap any more. We don't belong in space.
- Elephant789, on 04/18/2008, -2/+1Americans don't know space travel compared to the Russians. Space = Russia
And the near future:
Space = China
Oh, Booh hooh, are you sad that you're not no.1. That's life. - Pixelante, on 04/20/2008, -1/+0Are you sad that everyone picks on you? That's life.
Now, give me your lunch money. - inactive, on 04/18/2008, -4/+2You kids dont understand that reality is not as powerful as emotion. Look how you are all worked up over my country did this, my country went to the moon.
They put a space program together in one administration, one. Kennedy wanted to go to the moon for what? Remember the russians? Remember that none one video was stream to tv, all of it was video recorded through a cam corder pointed at a tv screen.
Asshats all of you.
Lets go to the moon. Where the air blows and they have a hollywood studio with flood lights and a belt made of radiation.
Global warming! Terrorism, Communism. Fight the evil doers, they support terrorist. Anyone who doesnt belive that the United States Govermnent didnt go to the moon supports terrorist. All of them. Send them to gitmo because the great nation would never do injustice to anyone. We are gods people! - mkling176, on 04/18/2008, -3/+1...
- inactive, on 04/18/2008, -6/+2I have seen most of those pics before. Nothing really new.
- inactive, on 04/18/2008, -7/+3Hollywood!
- orangefly, on 04/18/2008, -7/+2at first i thought the second pic was backstage of the moon landing....
/s - plizard, on 04/18/2008, -11/+3but but we never went to the moon!
- CyberStriker, on 04/18/2008, -17/+0Front page with only 32 diggs? I smell foul play...

What is Digg?
