- Jowitz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I found it interesting to see the shadows in 360 degrees of vision. There was an article on Digg a while back which explained how the shadows were pitch black due to no diffusion of light by the air, so it was disorienting to walk as ditches looked much deeper than they actually were and it was hard to see in the shadows. Before I read that article, it wasn't really something I had thought about before, and I found it quite interesting. (Sorry, I don't have a link to the article in question.)
- Crilix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Wow... That is absolutely stunning.
- lcarsdeveloper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@strangeguitar, you need to work on your sarcasm. Ok, some of us knew you were being sarcastic, but obviously the people who modded you down didn't get your joke :P
- hiscity, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8The moon was great. You can feel the bleakness of the landscape and get a sense that if anything happens out here, there is no help. That's not all.
This is the first time I've toured the VR Panorama sights via the links from the moonscape. Very worthwhile! Plenty to see. Uses quicktime. 360 deg scenes from many events and locations around the world. Some allow overhead and underfoot smooth scrolling views. There are also panoramas of video-game environments.
It'll put your PC through a workout. And one sight crashed firefox. I think I double-loaded it. Nonetheless, the scenes are jaw-dropping. Some animated. 10 stars! - latinjones, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic! I hope, right?
- PaxRomana, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4That is truly beautiful.
- lcarsdeveloper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This is one hell of a cool website, I especially love the Statue of Liberty in Paris.
The Mars surface is great, looks a little artificial though, something to do with the 360 editing of the photos.
And the Lord of the Rings premiere :P - andreip, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Why do you find it so hard to believe? Do you know more than we, the ones who believe, do?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For the ones interested, a top view of the moon is available here http://moon.google.com/
- moofer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The earth would be straight above the camera.
- CursedMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2where's earth?
- donolsen1155, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Coolest thing on digg this year!

- Rickler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2They parked a little to close for comfort to that large crater.
- RobotCitizen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The sunlight looks really intense there. I hope they wore their SPF 200!

- hedde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Beautiful.
Maybe they should ad some music to this and make a poetic movie out of it?

- strangeguitar, on 10/12/2007, -20/+8Hahaha! You rubes still believe that we actually went to the moon. Just look at that picture! Notice how you can see EVERYTHING? As if they wanted us to believe that they were so thorough that they wouldn't leave anything out? And look how meticulously they made that set look just like the moon. I mean, I don't even see any wires, lighting grids, or ANTHING! Clever, but not clever enough...
