- arunforce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+30I like Google Reader, especially for Digg, since it doesn't require me to click on 100 checkboxes to clear my viewed stuff.
I use to use Mozilla Thunderbird... - aaronlidman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Sage FTW.
- znachtman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I like the google gadgets in general. I have 3 monitors set up, 2 LCDs and a CRT, I use the CRT for my google gadgets.
- TheGuy20, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Yeah sage is great. You can use CSS to make it look any way you want.

Read their wiki for already made styles
http://sage.wikia.com/wiki/Feed_Style_Sheets - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Google reader is the best.No doubts about that
- jellygraph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6akregator, is the best
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I use Vienna for the Mac, a very nice RSS reader IMO.
- JuyLe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5My favorite is NetNewsWire... But I also use Google Reader.
- Iviz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5concurrment! After playing with several different desktop readers and a few firefox ones, google reader is my favorite. Its so simple to use and to mark the stories that you have read. It also has a great share feature which allows your friends to see stories you think are worth a read!
- WhiskerTheMad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"It's the balls."
Because nothing says quality software quite like "balls." - keepingitnerdy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I like the news reader built into flock. I can check off individually read stories or mark the whole feed or the whole catagory as read. I can also star a favorite newsstory and flock will add it to my del.icio.us in the background. The major pluses though with the online news sites is that you can have your feeds sinked across multiple workstations.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4incase you guys are interested, heres a cool rss reader for firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2325/
it generates an rss ticker on the bottom or on top of your ffox, hope you found this handy - Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@znachtman: gotta admit, that sound pretty frigging sweet as a setup
- SrLnclt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7If you like extra options I'd try a program like FeedDemon. Tons of filters, ways to view feeds, watch for keywords, etc.
I'm actually surprised how many people just use firefox or some site aggregator to manage their feeds. I'd rather have a program specifically designed to manage feeds rather than being just another feature that may or may not get much attention when they put together a new version. - durangotang, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4NewsFire
- Haplo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I still prefer to use Firefox live bookmarks as in http://johnbokma.com/firefox/rss-and-live-bookmarks.html
But I can imagine that this only works for me because I just read a few feeds. - znachtman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What about favorite RSS Readers for things such as Windows Mobile?
- drgruney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I like Google Homepage. It's not really an RSS reader perhaps. (it doesn't notify me of new stories) But when all I have to do is load up my homepage and see everything I want to
Especially with the sexy tabs. - 3monkeys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is the one I use as well.
- Jeffrey903, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've been using NewsFire for a long time and I love it. The interface is nice and clean.
- Devz0r, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Opera's built-in RSS reader is pretty good.
- ayeyen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4My favourite RSS reader? Firefox!
- jaderobbins, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4lol i actually stopped using google reader right when it came out because of the reason that you had to read everything in order to make it read. Guess the fixed it , i should check it out again.
I use feedreader :D - Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2since we are all here anyways, can I get a shout out of how many feeds you are all dealing with? 134 personally
- ref-d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I too, have been using newsfire. Two thumbs up.
- bluesaze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Google reader is slow if you have more than 200 feeds. i.e desktop Rss readers perform much better for power users. For an open source alternative RSS Bandit is the best. The best part is I can read the comments for each post without actually subscribing for the comments RSS. (Note works only for Wordpress Blogs)
- Jammerdelray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Netvibes is pretty cool.
- pchalasani, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Interface-wise, I love Newsfire, but I'm surprised nobody's talking about one very important feature: Searching for Feeds. NONE of the readers make it easy to search for feeds by keyword. E.g. say I want to subscribe to the RSS feed for NYTimes Most Emailed articles. I've tried typing the obvious keywords in the "search for feeds" box of many readers, but NONE gave me the RSS feed for what I wanted. Amazing and maddening.
Maybe I'm missing something? - drgruney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah... but it's not tied in to my gmail and google calendar. and i don't want all the stories listed. I like just having headlines... a simple middle click and it's in a new tab ready for me to read when i want.
- badtz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I still prefer non-web-based RSS readers.... NetNewsWire
- thejokker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How about RSS reader as a module (ie, google reader) on a search page.
- HMMaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1my favorite RSS reader: GreatNews http://www.curiostudio.com/
- vtel001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2My fav. is Opera browser's built-in RSS reader

- N1XUK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1netvibes for pc+mac
bloglines for DS+Phone (both on opera_ - machx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Vienna is just awesome, open source and free! Much better than anything else out there
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@modulo
1: only digg.
OK I'd be lying if I said that. But realistically: (only) 3.
+Digg
+Google Blogoscoped
+TechCrunch
...are there any others that I (or you) really need? or should be reading??
(no seriously, I'm genuinely interestd,&curious..) - decades, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1363.

- mingistech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't really like the web based interfaces on any of these RSS readers.
NewsFire is my fav. Nothing else has as pretty and clean of an interface.
David Watanabe writes the most beautiful Mac apps out there. They are worth every penny.

http://www.inquisitorx.com/safari/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sharpreader all the way.
- chapium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sage is nice. Applying styles is good; its similar to reading rss in IE7. My only complaint is loading a customized css is a bit awkward.
- digitaldd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1feedreader gets one mention? and no one likes BottomFeeder? http://www.cincomsmalltalk.com/BottomFeeder/
Cross platform compatibility has to count for something and BottomFeeder runs on Linux x86, (also FreeBSD), PowerPC Linux, Sparc Linux, Windows (98/ME/NT/2000/XP/CE 4), Mac OS8/9, Mac OS X (PPC), AIX, SGI Irix, HP-UX, and Solaris (SPARC and x86). - WZot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Newshutch (http://www.newshutch.com/) simply rocks.:)
- cecil_t, on 10/12/2007, -0/+177 but I need to clean some out
- termal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Feed2Imap for me. http://home.gna.org/feed2imap/
Dumps it directly into my linux server's maildir directory which I can access from any computer anywhere via any imap mail client (I use Opera and Thunderbird, depending on need; using Dovecot as the imap server). Even works with Portable Thunderbird over an SSH tunnel using Putty. - alok0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2rss2email

so I don't have to have a second program to notify me about news. - chapium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+110
How do you find time to read all that? - ripflash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It costs money, but I find NetNewsWire on the Mac to be great for reading lots of feeds, especially in wide screen mode.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.litepost.com is the best feedreader. It's called your new inbox.
