Yahoo acquires Konfabulator
biz.yahoo.com — Hoping to pave a new path to its popular Web site, Yahoo has acquired Konfabulator, a tiny software maker that provides a computer platform for monitoring the weather, stock prices and a wealth of other customized information without opening a Web browser.

I do not like the front page however, and search.yahoo.com is too much to type, plus I'm too lazy to bookmark it or change the search bar in Firefox. Yahoo!'s email was also the best before Gmail came out. So, I have no problems with Yahoo! acquiring Konfabulator. I don't even use Konfabulator because it sounds like a KDE app. When I think KDE, I think bloat. (READ: I know it has nothing to do with KDE.)

- jet3004, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This has been a long time in the making since the Konfab team found out about Dashboard. They knew that they didn't stand a chance and had been looking for a buyer for a while. Glad they found one, and YAHOO, too. Wow.

Anyways I wasn't too much of a Konfabulator fan, if I need weather info I have it on my phone, on my tv, and bookmarked. I don't need it on my desktop too.
