http://www.mininova.org/tor/438632 - SuneMan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17This is great. Finally a 2.0 release. XBMC is still the best media-center solution out there. There's only 720 progressive reasons or 1080 interlaced reasons to run 360 instead of XBMC on a Xbox (1). But the infamous DivX and Xvid disappointment keeps me hanging. And XBMC is so beautiful as well.
Xbox 1 and XBMC truly rules the world.
Thanks all developers. This is a great day. You prove that fantastic software can be completely free! - Sl4sher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I hope you do realize that with a component cable pack XBMC will render at 720p or 1080i and will upscale whatever video you are watching to those resolutions. The only thing that XBMC can't do is play true high def videos that were all the rage earlier this year. But on the other hand I couldn't get them running smoothly on a 2ghz Athlon 64 either.
- LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Actually, I don't like the MC360 skin. I don't know what it is about it, but I just like the clean layout of PM3 and how things are organized under it, but maybe that's just me.
- sharpfork, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13XBMC is the only reason I bought an xbox and I have not been disappointed. Once I figured out there was not enough processor power in the XBox to handle h.264 well and moved to Xvid, I have not had a single problem streaming video. Throw the MC360 skin ( http://blackbolt.x-scene.com ) on this and some emus and you have the best media center there is.
Congrats to the team on reaching 2.0. I appreciate all the hard work!

- Area51mafia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You can get it from the, err, "usual places". http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/xbins.php
- MikeMacMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6XBMC is awesome. I use my Xbox to stream all my downloaded media to my TV.
- EGOvoruhk, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10drakethegreat: It's also illegal to compile them, unless you happen to own a legal copy of Microsoft's XBox SDK, which I dount 99.9% of Modded Xbox owners do
The XBMC Team knows that everyone who runs it is running an illegal copy. Do you really think they spent years making this program, just so 15 guys who have the SDK can play with it? - lovedaddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6XBMC changed the way I watch TV / Films. God bless the XBMC team.
- webcrumb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Plus you can update the codecs by grabbing the w32codecs package, and if you're feeling adventurous grab the newer codecs from QuickTimeAlt and RealAlt. These need to be placed in XBMC/system/players/mplayer/codecs.

In case anyone wants the slim version - milamberdob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5OK so do I REALLY have to compile the source code? Or is there another way around it ?
- dsn0wman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7XBMC 2.0 can also be found in the newsgroup:
alt.binaries.games.xbox
Just for all of you "old-schoolers" (like me) who have no Idea what the heck a torrent is. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5XBMC is amazing. I love it. I compile my own builds (ugh woops..uh..I do it ... legally) and its pretty sweet.
I just hope 2.0 supports more codecs, some files don't play (dl.tv seems to not play that well..atleast the WMV or divx) - burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5That's my concern too. I'm about to try it out, but I'm a pretty big fan of Project Mayhem 3. I just don't see anything wrong with it.
- LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Send me your email address, I'll send you what I set my friends up with to mod their boxes. I'm lycoloco at gmail dot com.
OR, you can just go search over at forums.xbox-scene.com - Araya213, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm having trouble connecting to mininova, keep getting server timout warnings, wonder what's up with that. Anyway, how is project mayhem III??
- milamberdob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Thank you very much LycoLoco and Boxx ......Thankyou !
- LCISTech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I was just about to ask for that... Sweet!!! and Thanks!
- obeseotron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I own and love my 360 and all, but even if it played real formats as a media center, there's no way I would give up XBMC on my original Xbox. Nothing legal or illegal, commercial or open source even comes close to what XBMC was years ago, much less today.
- naing_oo_1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yep same here!
i've got the "FAT" Version too - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I really need to mod my xbox, but I don't really know how to get started or how it all works...
- hogrod, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4here's one way to mod your xbox, it's really easy
http://www.productwiki.com/microsoft_xbox/article/how_to_go_from_xbox_to_xbox_media_center_in_30_minutes.html - rimco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I have been installing the frequent CVS builds posted on xbins for quite some time, and I am absolutely thrilled that XBMC has finally hit the big 2.0. XBMC is probably THE #1 reason I don't give a honk about X360 or PS3... for innovative games, I'll stick with Nintendo, and for an outstanding media center experience, Xbox Media Center is all I need.
Congratulations to Team XBMC, and my sincerest thanks for making the program that has destroyed my social life (who needs sunlight anyway). - MikeMacMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The demonoid torrent works. The mininova fat version has no seeds....
http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/478859/5600502/ - LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3See my post above or get the torrent from boxx's post. I'd bet you'll be hardpressed to find all the fixins to compile your own
- vernsan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What bios are you running?
- deadlychicken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Google for "xbmc." The improvements are not aesthetic, that is covered by the skin authors. There are 2 main skins: Project Mayhem III, and MC360, look those up to see what it _can_ look like.

@adam8281, if your build is more than a couple of months old then no, you must use news XML files, ...but I would recommend that anyone installing XBMC 2.0.0 do a clean install anyway, (including deleting all database files and the XBMC memory-save), see the WIKI online-manual and FAQ on http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/ - wicked9, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7This with Blackbolt's MC360 skin and you have a nice little cheap media center, with all the functionality too.
- fr0chu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"...two surprise features; read-only support for FAT12/16/32 formatted USB Mass Storage Devices up to 4GB in size."
Sweet. I've been waiting for usb support for ages. It's worth an upgrade for this alone, in my opinion. Flv support would be awesome, but eh. Much love and thanks to the XBMC team. - deadlychicken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just built my own, since the xbox controller ports _are_ usb ports, just with proprietary connectors. Soldered a female usb plug onto a break-away stub, and my thumb drive worked fine.
- spongy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@araya
I am seeding the fat version and there are 33 seeds.
@Linh
* The standard 'SLIM' build is like you are used to see from T3CH - it's what's in the XBMC CVS with just a few small additions:
+Killarny & Nuka1195 & Pikes AppleMovieTrailers(info) (AMT) 0.91 (scripts: Apple Movie Trailers)
+BritneysPAIRSs ~110 choosen milkdrop presets (visualisations: MD - BPs Selection)
+EnderW's XBMCScripts Installer 1.0 SCRIPT (scripts: XBMCScripts)
+Codecs for mplayer (systemplayersmplayercodecs:*)
!UPDATE! The original SLIM T3CH 2.0.0 build had an error (english language file missing). Make sure to get the fixed rls: XBMC-2.0.0-FINAL-SLIM-FIXED-T3CH.rar
* The nonstandard 'FAT' build will come with everything that's in the SLIM build (except the BritneysPAIRS milkdrop presets, but you get a +8000 megapack instead) and some extra stuff:
Skins:
+MC360 v0.99b by Team Blackbolt
+Project Mayhem 1 - 2.0 version by Jezz_X
+Project Mayhem II - 2.0 version by SmokeHead
Scripts:
+LaunchBrowser v1.9 by Flash
+myTV by BigBellyBilly
+Poker Timer II by Nuka1195
+XBMCLyrics_guibuilder by EnderW & Smuto
+Youtube 1.7a by Donno
Visualisations:
+milkDrop MegaPack (8265 presets)
Extras: (_extras folder)
+1800~ or so dupechecked Game trainers (no need to unzip before xferring to xbox).
+Some Game thumbnails (3D) - pandaweb, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6lol, the ftp server is full
ive never seen that happen to xbmc - Talus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yay! I can finally upgrade my XBMC build with confidence...I've been waiting a while for this.
Grats to the XBMC team!
I haven't watched 'regular television' in ages.
Somebody needs to write a good Rev3 python applet... - zouden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's supported FLV for a long time. You can even directly stream YouTube videos.
- zouden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It is a release group, but they are endorsed by the developers so you can consider it an 'official' build, compared to other builds like Pimped and Bling.
- MikeMacMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The "FAT" version seems to have some filename problems with it. (Atleast my xbox does)
My xbox file system doesn't like a + in filenames. Ex:
XBMC-2.0.0-FINAL-FAT-T3CHXBMC 2.0XBMCscriptsmyTVsystemlogosCANAL+.gif
My xbox doesn't like file names over 42 characters. Ex:
XBMC-2.0.0-FINAL-FAT-T3CH_extras3D Game IconsGhost_Recon_Advanced_Warfighter_Limited_Special_Edition_Dvd_custom-front.png
It doesn't look like anything important is effected.
Anyone else having these problems too? - fr0chu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2well, it plays *some* flv, though most I've tried don't show video.
- deadlychicken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would recommend posting your question over at forums.xbox-scene.com, in the newbie section. They know everything.
However, your problem seems to be your cluster size =! 32k,
"If a partition is larger than 256GB, the harddrive needs to be formatted with 32k clusters, use XBpartitioner" (http://xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index.php?title=Xbox_General_Questions_and_Answers&xbmc_wiki_session=42e3469503f2f95f46af78dc621d30ac#Can_I_install_a_larger_harddisk_drive_into_my_Xbox.E2.84.A2_and_if_so_how.3F)
XBpartitioner can be found at the 'usual places.'
[EDIT] Gamester17 beat me to it if you scroll down - MikeMacMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Xecuter2.4981.06 on a xbit chip.
- xamox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Anyone have any screenshots?
- Stalks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Besides, so what if there are a few hidden words at the bottom of the page. You trash the site just because of something as insignifant as that?
