- JohnA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Ed: "Doctors say that Nordberg has a 50 - 50 chance of living, though there's only a 10 percent chance of that."
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yeah seriously, Slovakia is in friggin Europe.
But hey, no one is perfect- cool chart (runs fast too). - dustbin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Funny, I didn't know Slovakia and Equador were in North America.
- p2btech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I've got FF 1.5.0.2 XP sp2 and had no problem.
great digg! - ElectricGrandpa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Good ol' Canada, so undense... :P
- lbermude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3And there are WMD in iraq.. go figure...
- tokachu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The web page says Slovakia is in North America. That's obviously untrue.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Why is Ecuador missing from South America? It disappears when you put it into Continent view and select South America. Instead it's under North America. Something wrong in their database. Maybe I should go check a newspaper and see if any land masses have shifted lately.
- sundancekid503, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm a sucker for treemaps
- durerca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Statistics can be made up to support anything. Forfty percent of all people know that.
- giloron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3What version of Java?
Woked fine with Firefox 1.5.0.2 and Sun JRE 1.5.0 - blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You Sir, are a terrorist. How dare you oppose the U.S. government?
- ChileanGoD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah... for once the USA looks puni.
- heretik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If anyone knows any other cool world stats sites please let me know. I like this one http://www.nationmaster.com/
- manfrin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is goddamn awesome.
- Ourasi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2CIA Factbook data. Slovakia and Ecuador, continent = North America, really?
- FlyboyP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The first thing I thought was, wow, China and India are huge. If they had the economies to match their population, the USA would come in a distant third on the superpower list.
Hopefully they won't be mad at us. - jessecrouch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hah! thats cool.. it looks like windirstat! (or kdirstat)
- zouhair, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Canada is inhabitant, I'll go there and be the discoverer :)
- WarBicycle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2When did Ecuador and Slovakia become part of North America?
- Hoogie7Dowser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would be interesting if they had a sort by ethnicity option.
- CaughtThinking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1UPGRADE JRE sheesh. you should anyway, there's some security violations in jre 1.5 rel 5.
takes 5 minutes. www.java.com
great applet, suddenly the u.s. feels like a smaller place :( - newevilmind, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1good catch.
Ecuador is defintely part of S. America. - YesWorld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For those who missed it, the site has other applications using the same "Honeycomb" technology:
http://www.hivegroup.com/demos2.htm
- Browse iTunes with Honeycomb
- Shop for products at Amazon
- Select coffee and tea with Honeycomb
- All of today's news on one screen - dragulaaeop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I find it hard to believe that Japan has a population density of 337/sq km. Mistakes with numbers have been made in the past... just look at Office Space (well, that was a decimal point, but close enough)
- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Monaco... total population 32,409 and total square kilometers... 1.95 :-) Says wikipedia. Actually Monaco is just a city and a rock, and yes, the city is on the rock and the people on the city. I guess if you take an area in New-York you'd get a density much higher than that.
- captaindan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Japan: 127,463,611 people in 374,744 square kilometers.
Monaco: 32,543 people in 2 square kilometers.
Just because people go on about something, doesn't mean it's true.
For comparison, Manhattan has a population density of 25,800 people/km^2. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No crashing, FF1.5.02 SP2
Latest JSE - maxim303, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1since when are "Gaza Strip" and 'West Bank" separate countries?
- nemilar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Just a quick warning: The java applet crashed my Bon Echo (2.0a1, Win XP sp2)
- infinitussollux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0they didn't even manage to place countries in their proper continents, utterly useless.
- samfrench, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1same
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"yea, it crashes FF 1.5.0.2 on XP sp2 over here."
This is really off topic and ill prolly get buried but I just wanted to ask if anyone else has been having stablity issues with FF's latest release as well '1.5.0.2' I'll go to certain sites and it will just crash on me randomely, 1.5 seemed ok but this latest build just seems to be a bit buggy. - march1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0simply awesom
- jedeye, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Im fine with FF 1.5, but I am not using Windows, so I guess that helps.
- sstidman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think at least some of that data is questionable. If you believe what it says, Monaco has a population density of 16,548 people per square kilometer. That would be incredible if true. Japan only has a population density of 337 people per square kilometer, and people go on and on about their population density.
I am guessing that there are a lot of citizens of Monaco who don't actually live there. That's interesting by itself. - fillup07, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Mine also crashed - FireFox 1.5.0.2, windows XPsp2
- allarise, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1yea, it crashes FF 1.5.0.2 on XP sp2 over here.
- cbreaker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Strange. It seemed to work just fine on my XP SP2 box with latest firefox. I've noticed that sometimes extensions can cause strange crashes. Even some skins have made my firefox crash at unexpected times. I'm loyal to the fox but it's not the most stable application on my machines (it's pretty good though!)
- Kebert, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Really cool, thanks for the link
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3WOOT! GO INDIA! Take over China! BOO USA. they are Wannabees. Flame, me, and I shall come back, more powerful than you can imagine!
